Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde Comparison with Batman Movie
Batman vs. Dr.Jekyll & Mr.Hyde
In the book Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde by Robert Stevenson and the movie Batman: The Dark Knight by Christopher Nolan both express similar themes in evil, like evil changes perspectives and evil consumer the evildoer.

Many different themes are present in the Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde, but the main theme would be the fact that evil changes peoples perspective of each other. Many events from the book suggest that people will look at you differently. The antagonist of the novel (Mr. Hyde) makes it evident that other people look at him strangely. While two characters: Poole and Utterson were talking amongst themselves about Mr.Hyde, Poole had mentioned that “he makes a person’s blood turn cold and thin” (Stevenson 107). When Mr.Hyde walks past someone he gives off a bad appearance, thus he is despised by many. Also, in another time Utterson says, “your master must be seized with an illness that tortures and deforms” (Stevenson 106). This shows that Utterson is noticing a difference in Dr. Jekyll’s appearance, which means that even appearance plays a part in how evil can change how others view you.

Similarly, the theme of evil changing others perspective travels throughout the movie Batman:The Dark Knight. The Joker is the main antagonist in this film and he carries out many evil and wicked actions such as killing people. He also masks himself as a horrifying clown, he has yellow teeth, and is scarred in many places. Due to all of his evil acts and his creepy appearance, all the people of Gotham look at the Joker with eyes of fear. Another way evil changes perspective of people would be with Harvey Dent. Evil can come in many forms and in Harvey’s case it came through his appearance. Due to an accident he had hideously scarred the left side of his face. Thus, making his appearance looking evil to the people around him.

Furthermore, another major theme in relation to evil from Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde would be that, once a person lets in evil it will fully consume him. Once Dr.Jekyll turned evil he could never let it go. One time he had came home from being Hyde, he clearly remembered changing himself back into Jekyll, but then he woke
