Drag Races, Ships, and more
By Jonathan Bradley
Last year I went with Brandon and his family to the drag races in Baytown, Texas. I thought we would never get there. We also went to Galveston to the Battleship of Texas.
When we finally got there, the line was so long. It took about thirty minutes to get to the parking spot. We were able to go into the pits and look at the pit teams working on their cars. We went to find our seats to watch the top fuel cares race.
When the dragsters started they looked as fast as lightning. My favorite racer, Brandon Bernstein came to the line to race. His car was red and the other car was blue. Brandon Bernstein won the race. After the top fuel cars finished racing, we went back to the pits and bought some t-shirts, mine was red with a dragster on the back, And Brandon got a black t-shirt also with a dragster on the back.
After we left the drag races we went to the Monument Inn. It is a restraunt. When we got there, we sat down and had a great shrimp lunch. When we left the Monument Inn we went to the Battleship of Texas.
When we got to the Battleship we had to pay for our tickets. We went to the gate to get on the Battleship. The ship had a gun that has two seats. One turns side to side and one that goes up and down, we went inside the ship and looked at the guns. We looked in the kitchen and looked at the bunks that the people slept on. We werent at the Battleship for very long we really didnt that they should have charged to tour.
After we left the Battleship, we went to the Galveston beach. At the beach, we ran on the sand and our feet sunk. We walked at the edge of the water. My pants were soaked up to my knees. We left the beach and went to the Flagship. The Flagship a hotel over the water. There was only one room left in the hotel, but we didnt take the room. We left Galveston and went home.
The next day we went to Tyler and played mini golf and went to Dairy Queen and got blizzards .Then we went back to Brandons house to get his clothes and take him to his moms house.
I think that was the best weekend I ever had, and I will never for get that trip. I enjoyed seeing the drag races, the Battleship, and I enjoyed eating at the Monument Inn, and visiting the Galveston beach.
