Dylon KotsakosD. McGuire English 1113, 32211 November 2015Waking Up Early People, especially students, wake up early all the time and many people also have a problem with it which ultimately ends up with them being late and/or missing class or work so here are a few tips to help better sleep and waking up early. People should always try to get to bed earlier and stay well rested, set alarms to help get them up, splashing cold water on their faces also helps, as well as a shower and/or a caffeine induced drinks. Getting to bed earlier and staying well rested is most likely the first thing someone would think of to help wake up earlier, but yet not many follow through with it, yet most do not know that there are stages of sleep that, if someone does not complete they will not have a healthy sleep schedule. Not getting to sleep early or getting enough sleep makes waking up early a lot harder, so setting a bed time for one’s self helps to plan when and how much sleep one will get will help tremendously. People should try not to schedule a fun night the night before an early morning because the two can and most likely will collide and they will not receive enough sleep at night to feel well rested the next day. It is important for a person to keep up with their sleep patterns because it helps them keep healthy sleeping schedules and that also helps with waking up earlier. Setting alarms is also a very important step to waking up early because most people cannot just wake up on their own.  Alarms work well if people set multiple in a row so they continuously go off to wake up, so setting their alarms for about thirty or forty minutes before they actually need to wake up helps so when the first set of alarms start going off you can wake up a little bit too, eventually getting out of bed to start your morning. The alarms need to be loud, abrupt, and repetitious. Songs that are popular or what people listen to regularly are not usually good options due to people being tired and the song could relax them and instead of waking that person it could actually lull them to sleep. A loud beeping that is a sharp tone works surprisingly well. Setting different tones that are similar, but not the same is also a good thing to do because a continuous sound could be related to a dream.
