Learning Agenda Essay
Learning Agenda EssayThe Learning plan for me serves as a very critical blueprint on how I wish to approach an important component of how I live my life i.e. how do I learn. I understand there would be a lot of pivoting but as with all things in life, the leap to begin is the most important one and we often procrastinate the important things to do. I am glad and honored that through the medium of this essay, I get to help myself comprehensively and I must admit, I feel immensely fortunate to have got the opportunity to do so.Summary of Vision and ValuesValue 1- Family HappinessStarting off with the first value which would be Family Happiness. As I did mention in my Vision and Values essay and would not mind repeating again, it is the people residing in a house that make it a home. Home is what is filled with happiness, with people who support each other in times of ups and downs. I am single child of my parents and am extremely attached to them and I feel they are always worried about me which makes me feel special, important and responsible. I have seen some particularly broken homes from close quarters in the extended parts of my family. It is very important for me to pay it back to my parents what they have done for me and try to replicate the same for my family when I have one. I believe that my parents selflessly like all parents I am sure and they inspire me to do a lot for my family and society too.
Value 2 – Economic Security Economic security is one another important aspect to me. My father saw extreme levels of poverty as a child and as a young adult and did everything he could to not make me feel the same. Coming from a strictly middle class from Bombay, which is, as a matter of fact, a very expensive city to live in, we did not own a house there for 25 years and this distressed my dad. The Indian saying of ‘roti, kapda aur makaan’ meaning ‘Bread, Clothes and house’; these are the things an Indian aspire to have, at the very minimum that is. If there is some scale to measure economic security, my father started off at -50 with barely enough food to survive. And he has given me enough potential and has provided enough for me so that I can soon begin to start contributing and make him see the fruits of his hard work in raising a particularly naughty child. This has made me feel the importance of having economic security because money gives you that sense of freedom to do things that one desires and not worry about the basic things in life. Value 3 – Health One of the very important assets for me is health and fitness. I have nearly lost my mother twice due to medical/health reasons. It has made me realize how fickle our life is and it is of great value to understand the importance of health and it comes naturally to me when you are so close to losing one of the two biggest pillars of your life in a matter of a few hours. I make sure that I try to eat as healthy as possible and dissuade my friends and loved ones from unhealthy food practices and I follow the mantra that if there is success in life without health, what would you do with it? Good health is supposed to be seen with the same level of respect as financial success is in the society and the triumphs of life cannot be enjoyed without good health.
