Cloie Payne 10/13/2015 Bus 100 Strayer University Professor, Terese Taylor ColeEffective Communication in the Workforce In business all communication is important and it has an effect on others and oneself. The effect may not be what we always want to hear or how we have interpreted it. Communication that produces the desire effect is effective communication. The results in communication is what businesses desire. The main goal of all communication is to convey information between all parties involved. There has been times I have experienced effective communication in a business environment. I recently worked in Human Resource Management Department and effective communication was vital. I worked with very intelligent people on all levels. The part of communication that needed to be effective was the patient care and needs that our facility offered to the families and the patients on a daily basis. The second part of my Job was to have effective communication with staff involved. In doing so I was able to maintain a level of quality of care for not only the patients but the employees also. Implicating communication skills it improves the moral of the employees and reduces unnecessary competition within departments and helps employees work together harmoniously.
A team that works together is high productivity, integrity, and responsible. By communicating employees know their roles for teamwork and produces a healthy work environment. When employees are satisfied with their job it produces efficient performance and a relaxed atmosphere and better attitudes. Because of communication the language barriers are erected in languages and culture differences.Effective Communication in the WorkforceI always kept in mind that the employees are the heart of any business and they are the ones that are the company itself. Though, I realized that with any business money is the topic of any related topic of any related subjects involved in effective communication. However, in my opinion when your staff is happy then your customers are happy and that assures your business is on a good foundation and also a good foundation promotes success and spells money. When working at the facility and I will not mention in this paper, we had certified nursing assistants, dietary, housekeeping, and nurses. In all these areas it was vital to keep communication because it affected the care given by our company. When Housekeeping did not remember to clean a room properly we had to approach the issue with staff, family and the patient and address the matter promptly and ensure that the issue did not occur again. With Dietary the menu had to correct and the meals served hot and promptly. With Nursing the meds had to follow the physician’s orders and were to be ordered by the pharmacy to be given the patient on a timely manner. Of course, the Assistants responsibilities were to care for the patient in all daily activities of life.
