According to Christian Kirsch, an employee at IBM Global Technology Services (2007), “he mobile computing of medical parameters such as blood pressure, glucose levels, weight, and peak airflow can be increased by technology that monitors the patients compliance with the difference drug regimens to ensure they obtain the maximum quality of life with minimal disruptive impacts”. Another advantage is an iPhone application (app) that is used to recognize patients vital signs any time. The app allows patients to provide a starting point each time and build a database that could allow for improved detection of diseases. The only disadvantage to this health detection device would be for patients that so not have high technology devices such as iPhones and IPads. They would have to substitute other Droid and smart phones that are adaptable to the app. In order to accurately verify the data on the device, standard medical equipment is used such as breathing rate, heart rate, and oxygen content.
