How To End Global Warming
The atmosphere is something that is around us everyday, but do we really think about the changes that occur in it? The current problem that is changing the world over time is Global Warming. Even though the changes cannot be seen in human years, geologically the change is incredible. The emission of gases from burning fossil fuels, cutting down trees, burning oil, gases from factories, and car emissions. Most of these gases emitted are greenhouse gases, which get trapped in the atmosphere and warm up the planet. Global Warming could be solved in a couple simple steps.
The simplest solution is an old one, conservation. A developed nation has more restrictions on emissions then a country that is still developing. For example, the United States is a developed nation with drivable cars, hot/cold water in homes, High Definition TV’s, cell phones, and other things that make life easier. But Guinea-Bissau of Africa is a developing nation whose biggest source of income is cocaine trafficking. The United States restrictions on CO2 are higher because it has already brought its standard of living to a higher level. Those countries whose standards of living consist of trafficking drugs or selling children have less of a CO2 restriction to develop.
Another solution to Global Warming is planting trees. Forests cover 10 billion acres worldwide and use up 1 trillion tons of carbon through photosynthesis. “The ICPP estimates that 850 million acres could be made available for planting trees. These trees would take up 60 to 90 billion tons of carbon by the year 2050. Unfortunately, this is only 12 to 15% of projected emissions during this period.” When trees mature and stop consuming CO2, they are cut down, burned, and or decay. So trees are a temporary solution at best.
An effective solution would be to shut down all power plants and fossil fuel machinery. We would return to our original cave-cave man like lifestyle: throwing rocks at each other, playing with rocks, cooking on rocks, making tools out of
