The purpose of this paper is to explain why employee relations are so important for a companys success. This paper is going to explain how to keep employees motivated. Next, it will explain how to keep company morale up. Finally, it will also explain how to link satisfaction with productivity out of employees in the workplace.
It is important to have good, motivated employees. It is also important to have high company morale, and it is also important to make sure employees have job satisfaction. One huge factor to be able to get these results is to have a great company culture. If an organization does not have a good culture it is possible for a companys culture to change.
INTRODUCTION
“Employee Relations involves the body of work concerned with maintaining employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation, and morale. Essentially, Employee Relations is concerned with preventing and resolving problems involving individuals which arise out of or affect work situations.” (OHCM, 2009)

EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION
There seems to be a misconception that some managers make the mistake to believe that money is the prime motivator for their employees, but that is not always the case. There are several different motivators that will keep your employees happy that rank higher than money. The first motivator is to simply involve the employee. “Many employees want to be involved in the ongoing development and progress of their company. Plus, they often have insightful ideas that can make a significant difference in the company.” (Robertson, 2011)
Another motivator is to communicate with your employees. Tell them what challenges are currently being faced and ask if they have suggestions. Make sure that the manager always gives them feedback on their performance. If a manager has concerns, tell the employee and give them a chance to fix the problem. Celebrate individual and team performance is another great motivator. “To recognize team efforts, post performance charts on the wall or throw an impromptu get-together., Treat them to lunch or a pizza party, post team pictures on your Intranet and in their work environment or give them plaques, certificates, coffee mugs, etc.” (Robertson, 2011)
Setting challenging goals for employees can also be a motivator for employees. There are a lot of people that strive to achieve what is expected of them. If a company can set challenging goals your team then the team will work hard to accomplish them. It is amazing what people can
