Jim says it needs money, so Huck gives Jim a counterfeit quarter. Jim puts the quarter under the hairball. Huck finds a snake so he kills it and curled it up and put it on the foot of Jims blanket as a prank.
That night Jim wakes up to find the snakes mate right by the dead snake, and the mate bites Jims heel. tells Huck to chop off the snakes head, then skin the body of the snake and roast a piece
of it, and eats it.
