We can see that even English is not a language for Chinese people to speak with Americans, the British or any other native speakers, but they also feel English is very significant for them to learn it. In the past of 50 years, the development of English is remarkable in the world, especially in China. English language has become an international language means for multinational and multicultural communication. (para.2). English is can be the most successful language in the history of the world.
English is the only international standard language. China has developed rapidly in recent years. Now he is towards to the global level. Being the unique communication way, English is of great concern. Of course, the importance of English can be shows in many different parts in China, such as business, education and people’s daily life. With the globalization of world economy and Chinas entry into WTO, English is playing more and more important role in our life. Nowadays，with the prevalence of learning English in Chinese school, more and more people realize the importance of English. Furthermore, due to the development of our society, there are more and more foreigners in China. Especially in some big cities, there are so many foreign people around us. They may be our workmates, classmates, neighbors, friends and so on. However, with the increased popularization of English, there is also followed by many of negative parts in this process. For example, excessive stress of learning English may causes students feel weary of studying. As English become common in China, there are numerous errors in the Chinese translation; we can find errors in menus, advertisements, guideposts and signs. Chinglish is become popular in Chinese people and it has difference with Standard English. So, English also has two different sides in China.
HistoryIn china-a nation with a long history, traditional culture has a huge impact on people’s mentality. Centuries ago, some missionaries come into China, while they promulgating the Christianity, English were also publicized in China. For early Chinese rulers, to assert its dominance, they ban religious practice in their land. In the middle of the 19th century, with the developing of marine technology, English gradually move into China. Before the Sino-British Opium War happened 1839s, China was a self-sufficient feudal empire. And it did the closed-door policy. After the Opium War, lots of English-speaking businessmen come into china’s market. Lots of ordinary people get to know English.
My father, the owner of my grandfather’s shop, purchased an English business with American clients. But as his business grew, the Chinese government became even more repressive. When he learned that his grandfather bought this business, he started pressuring the Chinese government to put an end to the Opium War. He would never agree to cooperate with American companies, to fight for independence when they used their monopoly rights under British land claims. But when he asked the Chinese government to put the stop to the war, they approved, so his grandfather had to go abroad and bring his business with him.

In later generations, for example, people from China-a nation developed a Chinese-English language for themselves. But now, in China-a, there is no such ‘English-language culture’ in their culture at all.
In some parts of this country, especially in Beijing, China’s political culture is different than that of Hong Kong or Singapore.
When I went to see Beijing recently, I was reminded of the importance of these two countries. And so, I said to one of the leaders in China: “You are not getting through an open door. We need people like us. These are the people of your country who are looking for people willing to take care of one another.” But it was not just the people of China-a—in the western countries, they want to get even more. When a family comes to China and gives an introduction to an individual, they will not feel like a normal family. And when they are introduced to other people, they will not be like normal people. The Chinese are people with no need to be normal. They will be like ordinary people. This is why the Chinese will be allowed to have many different beliefs and have Chinese customs, like an Egyptian king. But when they meet people as the ones with who come to China, they are not normal. They don’t have their own beliefs and rituals, and that’s why China cannot be called Chinese. It’s just not right in my opinion. People have to learn to interact with Chinese, from how they go for lunch or for dinner or how their favorite foods are prepared, through the ways there. And when they start showing kindness to others, they get into really nice feelings with strangers. In some cultures, people are not supposed to be strangers with each other. This is a real problem in China. I don’t think there can be any kind of free exchange. So, that’s why I strongly believe that we have to learn how to live the life and to live together in China, and to understand ourselves and learn the meaning of this great country. We have to stop this oppression and be able to live together in a normal way while at the same time being able to speak and understand others. In fact, we may have the biggest political difference, I think in the world. With China, as a country, we cannot just go out into the world, that is wrong. But we can share and live with people everywhere in China, as you can by coming here and having a little experience with Chinese culture. And if we want to change things in our world, we know how to go forward and not back down. Because Chinese people also get along with anybody in the world, and that’s why we have to support each other when we are around other people. And China can always be considered
