It explains the duties and responsibilities to be applied to ensure a good environment.Literature reviewBy understanding the term environmental ethics to be practices from personal or business that aims at considering the impact on the environment, it is clear that these practices are duties an individual would consider with an objective of attaining a sustainable environment. Some questions arise when one thinks of environmental issues. Why should environment be taken care of? How environmental care does relate to the future? how does nature contribute to theday to day life?. All these questions arise when one does not have any knowledge concerning the importance of theenvironment and the environmental issues that should be considered. When it comes to the issues of being responsible towards the environment, people should be aware of the consequences that come after being mindful on their surrounding environment. Every day we carry out our activities not considering what these activities impact on the environment, therefore, when people are mindful on environment, they tend to minimize activities that have anegative impact to the environment. It is good to practice sustainability in order to benefit the future generation(Ignatieff, 2001).
When we consider the question on whether humans are moral when it comes to duties concerning maintaining the environment,we should take into consideration on issues to the argument. Various approaches on ethic have been argued on whether there is amoral aspect upon environmental concern. Some ethical concerns about environment have arguments and conclusions on whether humans presume that the environmental duties and responsibilities focus on the future generation. Also the ethical approaches have conclusion on how humans perceive these duties, whether they neglect or take into consideration. The moral aspect on environmental preservation through duty and care is determined by many ethical theories for example Kantian ethics, deep ecology, utilitarianism and shallow ecology(Marcus  2014).Applying Kantian ethics to the environment is not appropriate because the ethics rank human being as the only beings that should be taken care of. This is not right as for the fact that there are many things that contribute to an environment. According to ecology, there are human beings, plants and animals, water and air which form a complete ecology. When we only consider thehuman being in our daily duties, other ecological aspects will left unattended and eventually it will lead to degradation of ecological aspects. Nature contributes the biggest part when it comes to making a human life beautiful. Take for example land without trees, grass nor flowers or any other plant the land will not attract any social being. Also, when there is no water, human beings and all animals will not survive. Taking care of nature is a step towards enhancing the beauty of life. Although nature does not have much worth to humans it provides a place for other animals that complete ecology. Kantian ethics argues that it is important to take care and be kind to the animals and nature since they contribute to the future generation. Treating environment in a kind manner will enable human beings and nature to work in harmony and therefore mechanism on how to handle the present generation by ensuring sustainable environment should be developed with an objective of considering the future generation(Jie Yang,  2014).
