Romeo and Juliet: 1968 Vs. 1996 FilmsEssay title: Romeo and Juliet: 1968 Vs. 1996 FilmsThe essential visual differences in the film prove to be complete opposites. The 1968 version by Franco Zeffirelli, depicts a traditional Romeo and Juliet. There was nothing visually stunning about the accustomed Renaissance setting that was doused in neutral colors. Costuming was accurate and conventional for the time. In general this adaptation stays truer to the way Shakespeare had intended. In the 1996 version by Baz Luhrmann, the story of Romeo and Juliet is portrayed with a modern day twist. The setting is a beach city where cars and buildings are vibrant with color. Costumes were updated with Hawaiian print shirts and casual styled dresses. This adaptation was more appealing to the eye because it was not so bland.

John Lennon : “In the midst of a war with Mexico in 1946/47, John’s uncle, Donny (John Lennon) was one of the few people who could stop the American military from launching an invasion of Mexico. Donny died in 1952, after suffering an assassination attempt at the hands of ‘The Mafia’. He would join the CIA at the age of 23 in 1951 as a member of the CIA’s Special Operations Task Force (SOTF). He would go on to become a military analyst for World War II. During that time Donny was employed by the Army Staff to help coordinate the use of S-6 missiles to target Mexico in its war against ‘Operation Condor.”
