As a company doing business in Japan, international business ethics are not always uniform. For instance, in Japan it is customary to give gifts to those high on the hierarchy. Giving gifts could be considered as bribery, but in a country such as Japan this behavior is customary. When determining the code of ethics for the employees, the differences in the ethical codes are pertinent to their culture. Promote compliance with applicable laws and governmental rules and regulations
Deter wrongdoing

When determining right from one, one should think, if it has to be questioned it is probably wrong. This is a good rule to go by in business and your personal life.
