Ethical Perspectives
The ethical issues presented in the simulation of the Mysterious Roses was whether I can agree to maintain the confidentiality of an employees communication with me when I believe the communication will be a disclosure of sexual harassment. Gayle is receiving flowers from Bill who is my friend and co-worker. The decision-making steps I took to ethically address these issues were to tell Gayle that I will maintain confidentiality. If she discloses harassment, talk with Bill. If he is sending the roses, ask him to stop. If not, begin a formal reporting process. I will also inform Gayle to ensure to do her research, and make sure the incident counts as unlawful harassment. She has 180 days to file the complaint if this is how she wants to resolve the harassment and Gayle need to keep detailed and accurate records of the event.

This lens is covered by the Result Lens which is an ethical action where one that will sustain integrity-building environments.

In the second simulation, Case of the Cold Feet, the ethical issues presented were what to do when you believe that a colleague has falsified data in a report. The decision-making steps I took to ethically address these issues were to inform Dr. Waters that you are initiating an in-house investigation. Explain your concerns without mentioning the junior researcher.

The ethical perspectives, or lenses, I use to make my decisions in the simulation were the Relationship Lens which is an ethical
