The film, which was shot over a span of twelve years, chronicles the life of a Texan boy Mason. Starting from when he was six years old, the film serves as a time-lapse journey of Mason’s journey through boyhood. The movie is about growing up. Apart from the excellent direction, screenplay and performances, what sets this movie apart is that it depicts the growing actor in his real age through the twelve years. The Wall Street Journal wrote “[Boyhood] seems to channel the flow of real life… captures the mysteries of becoming a young man”. This movie presents us the perfect opportunity as a case for the project, and clearly our choice for the character to be analyzed is Mason.
A Beautiful Mind
It is a biographical drama film based on the story of John Nash, a Nobel laureate in economics; who is a child prodigy; a brilliant mathematician, but a patient of paranoid schizophrenia. The story basically revolves around characters John Nash, his wife Alicia, his imaginary friend Parcher, who he believes is a secret agent of U.S. Department of Defense. We have chosen this movie because it brilliantly explains the trials and tribulations he faces because of his mental condition and to what extent his social life gets affected. The movie takes us on an emotional ride of John’s nature and behavior which serves as a very good reference to explain not only John’s nature but also the way men and women behave and react to difficult situations.
