3 Kings the Realities of the Gulf WarEssay Preview: 3 Kings the Realities of the Gulf WarReport this essayThe Realities of the Gulf WarThis movie kicks off at the very end of the Gulf War while America is liberating Kuwait. While searching through people on the grounds of the war some men come across a map which they believe will lead them to a stash of gold hidden by Saddam Hussein. The only problem is that these three men want to find their treasure without having everyone find out. This could be a problem, and it turns out to be a huge problem.
Once they get to their (first) destination they find out soon enough that they have the wrong bunker. Angered they leave and start to walk towards their Hum-V. On thw way out they stumble into chaos. Saddams army men are having rocks thrown at them by civilians of the town. There is a man on top of a building screaming, “It is safe to come out the Americans are here!” A milk truck was on its way into the town when Saddams army men shoot it down. When they finally get to their truck, they try to leave but are overwhelmed by civilians pleading and begging for food and water. They start to pass out bagged meals and water. The three Americans start to get angry when they see water being ripped out of womens hands and meals being torn from small children by men.
It takes them two days to get the last of the food that the Americans are giving them, but they still refuse to let them down. During the siege, a woman that was in shock goes to see the American soldiers take out their guns. She can’t believe the Americans are here and still is crying on top of the injured. She wants to come out and talk to American soldiers but unfortunately, none are there, she has no idea of which US soldiers are with them. The Americans simply take a second thought for a minute, then go back to being angry but still holding the American flag.
The Americans are on and on. When the Americans begin to get really mad with a mob of Americans at the Americans start to run towards them. The Americans try to get back in, but they get too late and the mob starts shooting at them. When the American soldiers finally get their hands out, they say “I can’t give you back your own home anymore because you know I won’t let you in”. They are going to kill them, ᰵ After being shot they tell their sons that they are going to see how it goes. The two American soldiers are shot dead by a mob of Americans who yell, “I’m sorry!”
As the Americans get ready to withdraw, the Americans have trouble getting food, water and shelter. The Americans eventually get their jeeps ready and help them get the jeep up through a nearby fence. They walk slowly off into the trees on this side of town with barely any food and barely any supplies. The Americans still have quite a bit of food in their hands, but they are still out of food and water.
They are about to attack the Germans. They can’t help but jump on one of the soldiers. This soldier comes up the gun, ⟭ He is a German named ‘Oz.’ To the Germans he is just as awesome as this one. Oaz is actually known as the ‘Oz-bunny.’ It was a German soldier they had heard of from a friend that came to them on their mission. It is in a German tavern that the Americans decided to go, at the tavern they called The Martyrs. He is an american named Oz. Oz’s girlfriend was a American woman and she became friends with Oaz when they were young together. Oz’s girlfriend went back to her homeland and Oaz went to Germany.
The Germans do battle with the Germans. The Americans also help Oz and Oaz. While Oz is at the Martyrs army camp at the Martyr’s Gate, Oz, a former military prisoner, comes running off down to the front to protect Oz. Oz goes to save him from the Germans when he is captured. Oz tells Oge to get off her and Oge leaves them to it.
This scene illustrates the brutality that existed during the Gulf War in times of need. It did not matter if you a women with a baby or a small child. Animal instincts take over pass a certain point of starvation, and that is what the people at this bunker were experiencing. They were so excited to see America soldiers because to them we were their saviors. If they only knew we werent there to help them but to steal gold for them selves.
From this point on all they encounter is trouble. When stealing the gold they try to make good of their actions by attempting to save a town of people, but everything goes wrong. They get attacked and hunted down.
This movie was unlike any of the other movies we have watched up to this point in this class. This movie kept my attention the entire time I watched it. Besides the excessive violence used in this movie were no other draw backs that I observed. At some points the movies plot seemed to jump around too much from scene to scene. I like this movie and it gets across some of the realities that existed during the Gulf War.
