Introduction
Paper towels are a basic and important necessity to any hold. Depending on the cleaning needs, a person can purchase paper towels in various levels of absorbency and towel strength. Nowadays, paper towels comes in more exciting patterns and themes from country crock to holiday happiness than just the boring color of white. Paper towels are easy to go through, a spill here and there and the next thing a new roll is needed. People want something that can handle the job without falling apart.
Experiment Design
In this experiment, the study is shown with three different brands paper towel, Bounty, Sparkle, and Everyday Brand. Water and coins were added to test the strength of each paper towel. This experiment is a similar experiment that Karen Thomas had used and displayed on Hannah Science Project’s Website.
Project Purpose
To determine how paper towel strength varies with the cost of the paper towel.
Hypothesis
The value of Bounty will result to be the strongest paper towel.
Preparation
Purchase three brands of paper towel.
Record cost of each brand.
Borrow a large supply of penny coins.
Collect other equipment from around the house,

Elastic band
Water
Teaspoon
Experiment Procedure
Design a sheet to record the end results from the three different brands of paper towel.
Tear three equal pieces of paper towel from each brand.
Place a piece of paper towel over a container with an elastic band to hold the paper towel.
Pour five teaspoons of water all around the paper towel.
One by one, place pennies onto the wet area of the paper towel.
Record the results and repeat the steps with the other two brands.

From the chart, Bounty has shown it strength by being able to hold 944 pennies on a wet surface before breaking. An article from WRAL.com states that “Strong even when wet,” claimed the commercial that was shown on this website that a coffee cup and a bowling ball held up by Bounty wet paper towel really works. Also, according to Karen Thomas’ displayed on Hannah Science Project’s Website, that Brawny falls in second place by being able to hold 616 pennies on a wet surface before breaking.
