Shaniqua V. SmithMrs. MartinSPC10177th September, 2016 Who am I? Marianne Williamson said “We asked ourselves ‘Who am I to be brilliant, ambitious, talented and fabulous” but the real question is who are we not to be? To begin, my name is Shae Valerie Smith. I am an attending student at Palm Beach State College, who’s dreams are becoming a Film Director and Primary goal is to make my family proud. I am an 18-year-old girl that enrolled into Palm Beach State College during the summer as a Freshmen student. My academic goals are to graduate with my AA by next December then transfer to UCLA with a paid-in-full Scholarship. With the ambitious trait of mine and determination, I study and put in extra work in school to make sure I accomplish these goals. I work at Taco Bell but because my main focus is school, I had my hours cut to help me put more time into studying and doing schoolwork. I was born on November 2 in Providence, Rhode Island but raised in Florida. I live in West Palm Beach but alternate between both Lake Worth and Palm Beach Gardens campuses. Although, it sounds like school is my only life, I am actually very active in my church, I play softball, hangout with friends and volunteer at community centers during the weekends.
In my family everyone has certain talent or trait that makes us different from each other. For example, my only sister on my mom side, 23, is a very talented singer. If I ever tried to sing you might call the White House and report me for treason. My talent is Acting, Directing and writing films. My major in college is Film Production and you are looking at the female “Michael Bay”. Even though I’m a 90’s baby, I absolutely admire 1960s-80s movies. Alfred Hitchcock the most famous Director ever lived, played an important part of my reason to why I want Direct movies. Like come on, The Birds and Psycho still lives on! I always had curious passion for what goes on behind the scenes of Movies, TV Shows and Plays. At home on my free time, I like writing scripts and I’ve been doing this since I was 13. So, far I have over 3 and I’m working on the fourth one as we speak. In high school, one of my electives were TV production and I took it beyond just doing for it a class credit. By 10th grade year I was the school’s Sports Videographer with a whole crew to stand by me. Ill was well known as the Magic behind the camera. So when you see Shae Smith roll by in the credits of your new Favorite movie remember, I was the girl in back of classroom playing the game Subway Surfer.
