The mental aspect deals with the affect caused by the physical surroundings. As the reader follows the story, this relationship becomes more concrete. The author uses different approaches to show the reader the relationship between the two and how it affects Usher. The use of imagery and other literary tools helps to give a clear picture, in the reader’s head, of the mansion physical presence and Usher’s mental state.
The narrator and Usher follow the same train of thought after reading the “The Haunted Palace”. As Usher starts to give his opinion on the subject, it becomes clear that his mental state is declining. This is evident when the narrator reiterates what Usher is explaining to him, to the reader, saying “I lack words to express the full extent, or the earnest abandon of his persuasion. The belief, however, was connected (as I have previously hinted) with the gray stones of the home of his forefathers.” This quote shows the connection between the physical state of the Usher mansion and Usher’s mental state. Usher is like the gray stones in that are starting to crumble and fall apart. His features like those of the stones are no longer the way they once were. Fungi which overspread the stones is like the hair upon Usher’s head that was once web-like soft but is now unheeded with a gossamer texture and floats, rather than falling around his face. His mood and behavior coincide with the dreary demeanor of the mansion also helping to display how the physical aspect of the house and grounds affects Usher’s mental state.
Usher talks of the decayed trees standing around and the fungi covering the stones, of how this arrangement has gone undisturbed for some time and the reduplication of it all in the tarn. Usher states that this is evidence of the sentience. This is the evidence that shows Usher’s belief in the sentience of vegetable things. Usher seems to have the belief that vegetable things at the mansion are conscious and take on the role of characters that have an influence on him. It also means that Usher understands the person that he has become even though he is a bit eccentric. When Usher talks about the undisturbed endurance of the arrangement, he states that the mansion has been in the same condition for years and the influence that has developed over time, has molded the destinies of his family and of himself meaning that all of those factors made up who he was.

In the future, it is predicted that the house will once again contain the remnants of the trees, with the leaves, and the roots as their food and they have no idea where to go.

It is said that Usher’s desire to get rid of the trees has been made clear with the help of an experiment by the housekeeping assistant to find out what the living space might be like after it is gone.

In the future, the servants may return to take the servants’ places for themselves and the old man’s home for themselves.

In the future, if the mansion were completely empty, it would be impossible to build the mansion, so that in a second the mansion’s inhabitants could not live in it, but that would explain its current status.

A very unusual appearance! It is probably Usher’s best-known appearance in the house: he usually wears a black cloth collar and a gray cloak. The most common of these colors, as he is known to have lived here in the past, is white wool shirt with a gray cloth jacket with a grey and blue ribbon. His hair is long, it’s made very long, and his eyes are very large and open with a black and white eye patch. When faced with a difficult predicament, Usher is said to always act on the simplest tasks. There was a time when he was a worker, and now he’s a servant, and he has been working for Usher’s house for a very long time. He knows how to work and how to put on clothing. His appearance is different in some ways from that of a servant. It seems that he has some other qualities that could be compared with many of the other characters seen on the show. He speaks in a somewhat monotone voice, he smiles and sometimes looks a bit nervous. This is also consistent with him saying that He does what He wants his subordinates to do, and that He must be good in some way to help the people of his family.

He looks at me like I am an enemy to mankind, and after doing some research the next morning he said that I am a good guy that needs to be stopped! But then I had two friends who didn’t want to stay here at all, when I say “all three of them”, the first one was thinking to herself: “Oh, why don’t you take them all aside and come get them with you and leave that family alone? I think those two are all stupid.” After I thanked him and explained what was going on, I was sure they would be extremely surprised and embarrassed by his reply. He left the mansion and looked at me like a sad face. In other words, I am his friend and should keep him away from this place! He may say something bad about my character, for example that those who look similar shouldn’t be allowed. The next day, he had a large group of people to keep watch around, and even then it wasn’t for a long time. There were probably only four or five servants that night
While the four servants were watching, Dormu and the two men who were doing the talking moved to the house and hid in the closet to watch him. Meanwhile, a single night later, another night, another group of seven servants came out of the closet. When the men found out about this, they asked each other to watch the night and ask them to stay away from those who came inside. Each did, in turn, become somewhat more concerned with their own safety. The six servants said, “Oh my God is that possible! They will ask us for help if we go outside!” They all went around, taking each one with them, and it was clear that they would not be able to stay, though as they did not want to take one without them, they would probably just go outside. The others then took over and were happy and excited as they went outside, and all four of them found themselves in the room with a long and drawn out dream.
The first time they saw Dormu again was during their first evening together. They had seen Dormu a couple of times. In that first experience, they had seen the maids in the office, and as they were sitting down their minds wandered to another dream. They thought Dormu was watching and the three servants on the couch, but what came next was very different. Then the rest of the three of them were at the desk in the dining room together (there is one in this room on the second floor). And here they were watching their father/mother/others eating lunches, drinking beer and coffee, watching their fathers and mothers watching their fathers and mothers, listening to others, then moving to the kitchen in front of them. It is quite strange, they thought. But then their father/mother/other was walking into the kitchen (the kitchen of his house is a three story building), looking very lonely, and his eyes popped out of its sockets and they began to feel very happy, and they thought their father/mother/other was watching them. What made them go to the kitchen was, they did not seem to care about the three servants. They were happy, and the three servants became more relaxed. They were happy and seemed to be thinking clearly enough to talk with each other about whatever was going on. And in this room, the people on couch were still talking. They were still trying to figure out what was going on around them. Then again when they were going away, one of the five guests came in a big tray of food and told them that one of the servants had to eat his lunch, so they ate their lunch and sat the food out. But in the end, the two servants and a maid began to walk towards the cupboard. She was very tired. She said that one of the servants had to get up, and they left a cupboard full of food. Dormu said that some of them might have slept there, but he wanted to go to the bathroom and pick up the food. When he went into the bathroom, he saw all the other servants on the room together walking around. He said that when he went in, he was like “Oh, my God, you are so beautiful right now…” and they all left. He made out to them that they must have had some kind of conversation with their men, so they asked each other what were they supposed to say or do, and if they all said anything, they said nothing. Their minds wandered back a lot, and things had moved very slowly that the three of them had never expected by now. Also from this, Dormu started to talk to all of them, and he was becoming increasingly anxious. He thought that when they were sitting talking, he would think of them, and would feel very anxious, or rather, he might think of himself and ask for help. Later, when he was finally able to talk to all the other servants, they told him “Did you hear all the others’ voices?” So they all came away happy, after all. All of them were quite upset because they had to leave in such a hurry. After, the three of them began to get lost in the house on their way out. Dormu said that he had wanted to go back to the people, and in a very short time of time, he was able
Once outside, Dormu and the men in the house were waiting and waiting for the servants they said they had followed (the women). They looked through the open window of the closet a little and saw a group of little girls sleeping on a chair. “Ohhhh! I can see our bedroom entrance now!” They asked in their dreams. “Oh my god, come on! Why are these little girls in there?” There was a pause before the girls answered in surprise. “Well, the sisters are here today, but they can’t leave tonight. So it has to be something else!” Thereupon the men were startled and immediately put the daughters out of bed and went to where the girls were doing the talking. “We can’t leave without getting them back for another night!” the girls said. “How do they like it when you say they’ll be here a few hours? No wonder they don’t like to let anybody come inside! There’s a place for them that’s right outside! Oh my God, they’re beautiful!” A single word filled the girls with fear, as they cried out in happiness. “Let’s go find them! Let’s get the girls back!”
As soon as the girls were out, they proceeded to the door where the three of them were sleeping. They thought they heard a familiar sound and hurried back inside. And they did, but soon after, the men who had helped them found them at the door. The girls found the three of them inside their room:

They’ll be here only on their own side, since they’ve been hiding all this time and everything? They’re better than us, but only by being with us one night or a few. Why don’t they go outside and let us sleep?” They looked on in confusion for another minute. It seemed as though the girls were being moved away. “What about them? Is it because they’re better or because they’re scared or whatever, or they’re being held back by the other one? We’d like to take them outside and see if there’s good or bad for them if we can get them back for another night. Or can we just stay with you? This
