It Takes All Kinds
ENGPROF/01April 11, 2015From the  quote of Bill Bryson, “As the saying goes, it takes all kinds to make the world go around, though perhaps some shouldnt go quite so far around it as others.” In my opinion, it takes all kinds of people no matter what your race, socioeconomic background, or nationality to make the world a better place. Our society is so diverse in which people from different religions, race, moral views, and values can live together and pursue their dreams. I personally have crossed path with many individuals from all types’ background that have touched and changed my life for the better. Those people have touched me professionally, personally, and spiritually. There are many classification of people in my life, because they have impacted my life in different ways or areas. On a professionally level I have been empowered by many great leaders to achieve greatness in my career. These leaders have taught me to communicate better with fellow coworkers. They have created a safe environment where I could pursue my purpose and goals within the company.  Most importantly, they helped me understand that my input was valued, and I made a difference in the workplace. The leaders I am speaking about have been from different diversities.  First, allow me to share some of my personal life and my way of handling any stressful events.
In my personal life my parents laid a great caring foundation for me to grow. My parents have always fostered my talents and strengths, and helped me improve on my weaknesses. Without my family support; I wouldn’t be where I am today. I had a great upbringing and as a result, I try to give my children the same experiences by fostering their growth.  I love my family because they accepted for who I was.  However, family stress triggered high emotions in my upbringing specifically from my very aggressive aunts.  My mom was a very strong, loving, inspiring, and affectionate woman, but the way my family handled stress was toxic to everyone and no one could avoid its effects.Being under pressure in the workplace was emotional for me.  For example, I would become very stressed, irritated, and illogical.  In my culture, pressure caused a domino effect of chaos and confusion.  Although, I was child I recognized the negative effects this had on my entire family.  As a result, it is no coincidence that many of my family members suffer from stressed related ailments, such as, high blood pressure, heart attacks, and ultimately a few mental breakdowns.  I will say that eventually the problem was rectified, but the process was long and damaging at times to everyone involved.  However, the worse part about being emotional as oppose to logical; many relationships that were once so precious and loving were torn apart.  Unfortunately, when I became an adult, I too handled stress in the very same way as I had seen as a child.
