Humans often don’t know their own good and choose the ways that satisfy their needs, for a period of time. That’s why we have parents, don’t we? To guide us till we grow ripe, and a problem we face with them is our eating habits.
The controversy of whether fast food is superior to home-cooked food has been long in question. There are many commonalities between the two. The first noticeable similarity is that they both contain calories. healthy foods doesnt mean free foods. 1 avocado contains 300 calories and 1oz of nuts on average contains about 200 calories. Also, eating too much of both can make you overweight. Too many calories lead to weight gain regardless of the foods you eat. Junk food is tasty. Similarly, healthy foods with the right preparation can be just as tasty as junk foods.
Another difference is that fast food can be cooked in a short time compare to home cooked meals. However fast food may need ten minutes but home cooked may need half an hour to cook. Fast food are usually very cheap as it is intentionally made to be available for all levels of income. Home cooking cost will also be reasonable as long as the ingredient prices are carefully considered.
Another contrast is that fast food has high levels of LDL(bad cholesterol) and brings the Triglycerides into abnormal levels, which may lead it to accumulate the blood vessels and raises the chance of getting a heart attack. On the other hand, home-cooked food keeps these fats in their average levels most of the time. The key differences between fast foods and health foods have to do with the processing that fast foods go through along with the added fat, trans fat, sugar and sodium. These characteristics are responsible for increased rates of obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.
