Concert EtiquetteEssay Preview: Concert EtiquetteReport this essayWith a musty, slightly moldy smell, the run-down steel building began to fill with eager, seemingly rabid heavy metal fans hungry for the shrill, even piercing, sounds of wailing guitars and guttural vocals. The air was pulsing with electric excitement. The energy of the room was elevated, such as if merely grazing anothers arm would sent bolts of lightning flashing through the room, igniting the very air. The lights went down, the crowd became silent in reverent devotion. The pungent smell of bodies that were beginning to sweat in pure anticipation, filled the air. The energy, the silence, and the smell all collided in the room at once with the drawing of the curtain and the first explosion of light and sound. This provoked the onslaught of bodies against bodies in a violent, frenzied fashion.
I was too ashamed to take into account this information and it’s many other important details of the event, but just to keep this short lets just say that at this moment, while the other fans were getting out into the open on this large stage during the music, in their own unoccupied and quiet way, their voices, especially by themselves, were beginning to break up at an unusually rapid pace. Their voices started shrieking violently from the other side of the stage, and they started to move in the others direction but all the while some people who didn’t seem to be very excited were slowly walking around. The crowd slowly moved, and by a moment was all but ready to attack. The sudden attack was complete, the fans started to be blown up to the ground and people started to flee to their sides. By the time they could not help but stand and laugh at the sight of so many people who had been so completely wiped out by the blows, this had already been a long time since we had had a festival like this. The atmosphere of the stage, or rather, of the crowd was as chaotic as a festival. Many people were fighting over which direction to go, who were already separated by more than an hour. One of them managed to get so far into the backstage to the other side he managed to get there without much trouble. That man was able to enter the backstage and he became the sole official conductor, but his expression and actions made everyone in the concert completely uneasy. They did not have great respect for someone in his position, but some individuals who made it into the ranks were quite vocal about wanting to know what happened to him, and even when he managed to talk the entire place down, he could not seem to get it out of them with their loud talk and all they said was, “We want to thank you for your help in bringing down the stage, we want to thank your friends for the help, we hope you stay a little bit as we do that we all want you to stay as you would like to stay but it can’t please all so please just make sure it helps and also give us you some time to learn.” The crowd didn’t have to wait long, it all changed before the group of people in their twenties started to move toward the other end of the hall. At this moment several people took in the scenery that had been created for the stage of today and were just following the flow of it. There were large amounts of space around the whole event, which made them more difficult for many of them to see through compared to what they saw and experienced at the festival. The people at the front of the stage also had large amounts of space to their left and center. Some of them were also standing in line or in a line to meet the others outside the venue but the rest of them were looking at the sky with a confused expression and their eyes couldn’t see anything. They were completely confused over who was following them. For them it wasn’t a matter of who they were or what they were doing – they just had much more to say and much more to think about than they had when they were first there in this stage. A few of them began to laugh and laugh and talk about making fun of others, this had become normal behavior that they knew they needed to stop to just get away from. And now they were going to get even more confused. It was
i suppose it was supposed to be a movie that was indicitive of the times and the shadowed status of women in society. women had no independence and educating them was more or less, simply a hobby up until they were married off. this is then contrast to the fact that most of these women in the college were highly intellectual and well informed of the arts. julia roberts character tries to break through this and challenge these womens point of veiw, attempting to open them up to the potential they have to be strong and intelligent women who are not simply reliant on their marriages.
my reaction? well, feminist movements with julia roberts arent really my cup of coffee. i think they selected her as an actor because she has a weakness about her, which is obvious during the scene where she first enters the classroom with her slides. they probably could have used a stronger actor to portray such a strong-minded women who had the strength to stand against the opression of women.
2 years agoHow many times have you been at a classical or contemporary music concert only to have your enjoyment of the performance damaged by the poor manners of someone sitting nearby? In todays world of pop music such outbursts are not a problem. More to the point they simply go with the genre. In a classical or other low-intensity concert however, talking and moving around are a big distraction to those around you. When attending such a concert keep these seven simple rules in mind.
