User Manual Critique
This is a critique of the Acer G245HQ monitor. The first criterion that I will use is the table of contents. When a user looks at the manual one of the first areas of the manual that are looked at is the table of contents. The table of contents should be marked clearly with the correct format. The manual itself must be clear and concise, have graphics that are legible, more importantly, the content is true. In the end, the manual must have a help system that will answer the user’s questions.
Table of Contents
The table of contents is organized and clear, but the layout with the bullet list does not seem to be formatted correctly. The tables are clearly marked with headings giving the user solid instructions where to go in the manual. The manual clearly gives the user warnings on how to prevent accidents and shocks. In the end, the table of contents should give the user the ability to see what is needed to put the monitor together and if the monitor does not function properly then have some kind of support system in place.
Detailed and Accurate
The Manual for the Acer G245HQ is organized, clear, and clean looking. However, the pages are in a different font format, meaning the manual is not in Times New Roman. I would like to say that the manual has very helpful notes at the end of some paragraphs that give good advice.
User Readability
Although the manual is clear and concise, the words are packed on top of each other and everything seems to blend in. Too many points to the manual, thus the manual has too much information in twenty-three pages. The manual is too congested on each page; this manual should have been written with much more white space incorporated.
Graphics and Charts
The Acer G245HQ manual has a
