Tredfor
The course TREDFOR is all about Vocation and Marriage. The lessons were discussed in detail through various topics that lead to the essence of the course. The first half of the term talked about God’s vision for us, which is to join him in His Kingdom. We were even asked to create vision boards for ourselves, which shows what we want to have and be in the future. We related our vision for ourselves with the vision that God wants for us. We were also taught the Beatitudes, which are like the standards on how to be an ideal Christian and which proclaims the blessedness of a person. Through the beatitudes, we are taught to be selfless and to experience God’s grace through the blessedness of others as well. By applying the beatitudes, we are being led to the Kingdom of God, which is where God’s reign and His unconditional love may be experienced and realized through ordinary human experiences. In addition, God’s vision for us may be realized through our vocation. Vocation, an invitation or calling to find our life’s meaning and purpose, has three kinds – Single Blessedness, Priesthood, and Marriage. The gifts that we received from God are our tools to fulfill our life’s mission and vocation.
Marriage, one of the types of vocation, was also discussed in the course. We talked about the different factors that affect our choice of a prospective life partner, which includes the incidental factors and the real criteria. When we’ve already made our decision, we are committing not only to this person, but also making a commitment with God. Through marriage, the bond between two people is sanctified and made sacred. To learn more about marriage, we were tasked to interview a married couple, preferably our parents, about their lives before and after marriage. In addition, we also discussed about the family, and the typical issues that a modern family experiences.
Personally, TREDFOR is a relevant course to help the students
