This was just a general visited. On August 28, I received a bill in the mail for service in the amount of $340.00. My first response was to call in to verify that the clinic had my current medial insurance on file. To my dismay the insurance on file was incorrect. I happily gave the representative by the name of, Marianne Clark, the correct insurance numbers and faxed in a copy of the card to be put on file. I was assured that everything was being taking care of. I was also told to disregard the notice and that a new charge
I was told there was a charge of $500.00, based on the information already presented. While I waited for my response, it was revealed the bill was $240.00 and that the patient had paid that. After a thorough investigation, I agreed to pay that by a little bit rather than in cash. I received the next day with a statement that I had not paid for any prior service in three weeks. This came as a surprise to my friends and family as the bill would add another one hundred dollars to my bill. I am glad you are understanding my situation.Since I received the bill I’m sure the law is not being followed very closely. I want you to understand that your family is being harassed and threatened. Please tell them I have been taking a patient to the hospital this way for more than a year. Thank you for your time and support.
Dear Nancy,
,I am sorry to have a little too much to say here today, but I’m sure I will hear back, as I have done since I began taking this case, that any action against you has been illegal and that you will probably have to resign if you try to do the same on the rest of the patients. It still shocks me that I can’t find anybody willing to take care of this patient, including the doctor who was charged with getting this family’s money and insurance to a state underpaid. I will continue to write to you to ask you to act immediately.
On receipt of my second report, Dr. Rainone’s representative contacted me by phone, in an attempt to get some more information about the situation. They said:I am told that I owe about $270 for my second report, which is much more than $180 in the current situation. In this instance, I believe you have put the patient in an unfair situation. However, you didn’t ask me to do anything for me, so far as I can see, including asking you to pay me the premium? You failed to take a risk and are abusing your position for the benefit of your client. I hope that your client can appreciate your professionalism more than just stating that you are not being sued as a medical professional. If not, I will get back to you. Sincerely,
Dr. Rainone,
Thank you for your support. If necessary, I might ask you to read the Bill of Rights of the States, and follow them closely.
