Synopsis The Apprentice is a British reality television series involving fourteen candidates which aspire to be mentored by business magnate Alan Michael Sugar. Most, if not all, candidates gave up their current business to participate in the show. The fourteen candidates were split into two groups named First Forte (women) and Impact (men). The project managers for each group were Saira and Tim respectively. The first task involved buying and selling flowers wherein the team with the higher profit wins. At the end of the task, team First Forte lost the task which led to the firing of Adenike for: 1) being disrespectful to Saira 2) not cooperating in the team strategy 3) poor boardroom defense. Team Impact won the first task with a profit of £865 against team First Forte’s £602.
II. ProjectA. Team Team First Forte initially decided to sell the flowers in the market but they eventually changed their strategy to pavement to pavement due to poor sales. Despite changing their strategy, they still performed poorly because everyone was not on the same page with Saira. Meanwhile, team Impact focused more on the door-to-door strategy. They started slowly since the residential place they chose in the beginning was deserted. They eventually caught up with Paul proving to be a brilliant salesman which led them to victory.B. Individual Saira had a good strategy coming into the task but the problem was in the execution. Some of her teammates were not on the same page as her and did not cooperate at all. These were Adenike, Adele, and Miranda. Adenike and Adele would often argue with Saira about her strategy since they had something else on their mind. On the other hand, Miranda sold the flowers at a loss multiple times thinking that they would never be able to sell everything within the day. Meanwhile, team Impact had always stick to Tim’s strategy which was led by Paul’s brilliant performance as salesman.
