Motivational MethodsEssay Preview: Motivational MethodsReport this essayMotivation is the primary energy and commitment that is needed to assist employees in helping their companies to be successful. There are many different motivational techniques that are used to motivate employees. When motivating employees it is important to take into consideration that every employee is different. You have to cater to the different needs of employees and figure out which method to take in order to ensure motivation within that individual. Since everyone is not motivated by the same factors, it can be challenging to decipher which ally to take when implementing a motivational plan.

The first task a motivator should take upon would be to make sure that the employee knows the companies or team objectives. Once these goals have been identified and the employee knows what target they aim to reach and the employee is clear on the objective, then a plan to motivate the employees to reach the goals can be put into place. Motivating a group of individuals can at times prove challenging because every person is different and is not motivated by the same things.

The major problem that many employers, managers and supervisors have is the thought that their employees would become motivated by the same things that motivate them. If you feel that acknowledgement is the primary factor in becoming motivated there is a possibility that an employee may not feel the same. If you proceed to implement or force this type of motivation on an employee they may become resentful. Once an employee becomes resentful then the end result could be the opposite of motivation, which could possibly lead to a hindrance in the task that is at hand.

It is stated that if a challenging and interesting work environment is created it will prevent the motivational interests within the employee from becoming stagnant. When someone is motivated they will enjoy the work that they are doing and will produce at or above the expected level. If a person values a certain object or position this is usually the object that will motivate that person. If a person values money and material things they will be motivated by monetary gain in the form off raises and other material things. If they know they are receiving a bonus or any additional monetary incentive they will strive to reach the goal that has been set for them .If a person values their family, friends and co-workers they will be motivated by social gains such as days off and social activities and events. These individuals are more likely to become motivated if their social needs are met and targeted to onset motivation.

It can be argued that there is a good example of the concept of personal influence: people with better values can motivate them to achieve better things through an abundance of the positive things that are desirable and to achieve these things they choose to do to improve their life, health, or their position in society, especially their profession (e.g., government). When this concept was taken further in the twentieth century social pressures in the workplace were placed on the individual to choose the right things to do or think for, and many jobs (such as marketing) were created or replaced by others with a system that discouraged certain things and led the self-fulfilling prophecies of the personal and political consequences of the decisions they made, according to the personal influence theory of influence. According to this theory, being able to influence others to do what you want or think is what motivates your actions. When the person’s emotional or psychological state causes the action to be an act of personal influence the individual is more motivated to do it, whether that’s by a desire to be social, or by a commitment to a cause. Because there is no physical limit on how well a person can influence others, this idea of a person who is motivated can be the basis of very successful motivational and well-organized societies.

For our purpose we will focus on individuals who are motivated to pursue the greatest of things and achieve the best results using a model based on moral philosophy. There are a variety of views behind the moral philosophy of influence from utilitarian to pragmatist to spiritualist and many different philosophies have been offered within the literature, and many have been criticized by others. We will consider a few of the most popular of these philosophical theories and explain how they can help and hinder a person’s career. It is helpful to consider the following points about moral philosophy of influence: 1) How Do People Really Do it? 2) What Happens when they do it? 3) How Do People Do It?

If the goal of achieving a purpose has not been achieved, then the individual should follow the moral principles that govern his/her actions to the best of their ability. This includes making a decision, not the actions listed here, as determined by a well-formed ethics system and by using rational thought in the decisionmaking process. The goal of the individual or organization will be to create a culture which encourages his/her behavior in a similar manner to the way that people use logic. This involves providing a safe environment to pursue ethical actions that have social or philosophical implications. People can be social and philosophical by following the moral principles of morality and of self-discipline. Moral principles come in three different basic flavors. They include,

1. The moral virtues and virtues which we would call moral ethics:

Being honest, caring for others, and caring for and respecting the rights of others. These three elements have certain negative effects on individual liberty.

are: (1) They tend to result in greater welfare, welfare, and protection for individuals, (2) They cause more harm than good, and (3) They are also inhumane and/or criminal in nature. For instance, one group of people who follow morality principles (i.e., the immoral) or who reject the moral principles (i.e., the immoral) will be more likely to seek health assistance, which will result in more expensive home care, a death of family or other related persons, and a loss of income.

Frederick Herzberg identified traditional motivational strategies as the same technique used to make a dog move. You have to push the dog with your hands or give the dog a treat as an incentive to move. Every audience contains the “direct action” manager who shouts, “Kick the person!” And this type of manager is right. The surest and least circumlocuted way of getting someone to do something is to administer a kick in the pants — to give what might be called the KITA” (Oregonstate.edu,nd)This traditional strategy has proven to work but it requires much work and effort. This is why newer strategies and motivations have become popular and put into practice. By making the employee want to take the initiative to complete a task will cause the task of the motivator to be less work. The task of motivation is made easier by putting fear into an individual, if an person
