Roots are the underground part of the plant. The roots hold the plant in place in the ground. The roots take in the food and the water the plant needs to grow from the ground.
The stem of the plant is the body of the plant. The longer the stem the higher the plant is to get sunlight for photosynthesis. The stem supports the leaves.
The leaves use tiny pores called stomata that open and close to allow gases to enter and leave the leaf. Within the leaf is where photosynthesis happens. The leaves take in CO2 and O2 exits the leaf back in the air. The CO2 the leaves bring in is uses for food within the plant.
Parenchyma cells are used in the plants body as storage for the plant. They are large cells with thin walls. These cells in leaves and small stems have chloroplast to help with photosynthesis.
Collenchyma cells are smaller and have thicker walls of cellulose. These cells support the plant but over a longer distance. This helps plants stand tall, like a tree, instead of falling over.
Sclerenchymas are long cells that are fibers in the plants body. In these cells you can find a chemical called lignin. Lignin is the compound that allows the fibers to be very strong. These cells would be the strongest of the plant. These cells can be responsible for water movement within the plant body.
The flowers are where the reproduction happens, and where the pollination happens. The petals attract insects, and other animals. The Stamens produce the pollen. The carpels are the female part of the flowers. The sepal is the male part of the flower.
