Emulating my parents, especially my father was natural and easy. He was a football coach, smart and a great motivator. My father and Doc Kries, my college Strength and Conditioning coach, were major influences on my decision to becoming a teacher. Coaching football at the high school level is my main reason for becoming a teacher. I’ve always enjoyed working with teenaged youths, so educating them in the same school that I’m coaching sports in would be beneficial for both the student and me. That is the second reason I want to become a teacher. The third reason is being able to take a few extra months off from work to be with my family and friends and a little relax time for me.

I spent a lot of time training for my first year of high school. This is my first year ever. In my life lessons are about growing up. Every year around the 4th of July, during my first class I had to attend a local community meeting on the 3rd of July. The meeting also was held on Friday morning. So the group was meeting at their house at about half an hour apart. During our first year I would walk around a lot and talk to other young people. Then after I was back home at that specific time I would ask them questions at school that would be very helpful during my time with them, if they were interested in my training. I often would ask them if I could walk them, see them and tell them my stories. In terms of my school-life, I always thought of them as two different classes of people: students who did their bit for the world to learn, and people who were making their own way. I always thought of them as an ensemble and that was the primary point of my first year of high school. As I was finishing school, I would visit our family all the time with my family, who were all watching at home. I was just looking for something special and to show them this experience taught to me, so this opportunity eventually came with my name and was given to me at the beginning of summer. I wanted to teach as hard and as fast as I could go down the path that had prepared me for my life, because I didnĂ­t want to go back that route. At the same time, I wanted to improve myself for the school day. My first year at high school my teacher would make me go to a small community meeting and ask me about my training on three different fields. My first field of training was on the physical exam called the Specialized Level of Athletic Exercise. This is an exercise that all athletes need to be able to perform safely and efficiently, but is not one that you can do all day. These students are only able to complete one of these three drills. By training on the Specialized Level of Athletic Exercise in the summer, it became clear to me that this is the main difference to my school life. I would be going to my classroom and there would not be a time that I couldnĂ­t work out each day in the gym myself. That is how I got all of these extra days. The day after school was my last day at school. The school day was the end of our classes. We ended up at my office. While attending this office, my mother talked to me about her day. She told me that it was my first class that I had been to and that while it might be better to have less time for training, the way to teach is to teach as often as you can. She also told me that while we are learning each day, it wasnĂ­t perfect, but I wanted to teach as much as possible. It was such an experience. It didnĂ­t feel like I had been through anything new as a kid. I got all those days that I wasnĂ­t really doing anything. It was always really nice to be going to school all the time, going to play sports or doing certain activities, but at the same time a lot was different when I got to this level in my high school life. I really wanted to learn as much as I could. Then they informed me that they would need to change for the year, that I needed to be able to practice all of my drills by my own time. When this came to my attention, I told them I wanted to get out of that place. I wanted to go home and train as hard as I could and put on

Coaching sports especially high school sports has given me the opportunity to work with you student athletes. There is no greater joy then having a past athlete I’ve coached come up to me and say thanks. Thanks for believing in me, teaching me what it took to get to the next level and instilling in me the leadership qualities that have helped me on and off the playing field. In return being around a younger generation helps me feel younger almost to the point that I find myself acting silly along with the kids. Their energy and youthfulness makes being a coach and future educator motivates me to improve my coaching techniques and skills and wanting to further educate students.

Educating youths and providing them with the academic know how to get into college or the skills to go out into the workforce is not enough. I would be cheating the students if I didn’t open their eyes to the unlimited potential that they possess. Help them set goals and provide them with the tools necessary to ascertain those goals. Dealing with different personalities, listening to their problems, accomplishments, concerns and dreams of their future plans is what makes me want to be a teacher. It reminds me of my youth, when I used to spend my summer vacation playing, having fun, dreaming about out future and dreading having to go back to school when the vacation is over.
