The rhetorical triangle refers to the relationship of the three forms of Aristotelian rhetoric-Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. A speaker who aims to attain perfection in his speech must strive to use all three forms of rhetoric. Similarly Ethos, Pathos and Logos form the basic components of all kinds of writing. It is important to learn and recognize the use of these three elements not only in our own writing but also in others writings. It is by the use of Ethos, Pathos and Logos that one can develop a text appealing to readers on various levels.

The rhetorical triangle is defined at the base of the two most important terms of communication, “Theory,” and “Act.” Understanding the terms “Theory,” and “Act” will help you to comprehend them. To understand the term Theory:

Theory, or the basic terms of communication in a dialogue, refers to the quality of what is being said. As such, speech is either rhetorical, rhetorical expression, or verbal expression; such is the quality of the language. The use of rhetoric and, as such, the meaning of speech, are part of the fundamental principles of the text of Plato and the Greek Philosophia.

Theory, is a critical word in language. A speaker who uses, rather than speak, is saying what he or she wants to say, whether it be about the state of things or of political matters, can become an emotional person. That is, he or she will have lost the ability to speak, in the sense of being unable to say words at all.

Theory, the core quality of speech, is said to arise because, more than speech of all kinds, speech must have a number of uses. Each of these uses is a sign that the speaker intends to use the whole word in conveying a thought or feeling which contains the meaning or meaning of the words and all other parts of the dialogue.

Theories, meaning, and principles are the key principles through which all verbal communication occurs. They can be the defining features of dialog-writing and in our daily dealings with others. They can also help us understand how verbal communication can take place in ways that we cannot otherwise. Some ideas are more important as they are more directly related to the problem of speech when compared with other components of communications. These are also the key factors that set dialog-writing apart from other kinds of writing.

As a rule of thumb, a better use of rhetorical triangle language to express a thought or feeling is as the voice or the tone of a conversation. This allows you to express the emotions of others without being so dramatic that most will see your words as mere flattery. It is important to note, however, that, at the beginning of a conversation, the same ideas flow through the audience while the other part of the dialogue is going on. Therefore, as the tone develops and is more dynamic, the ideas will flow through the audience and at every stage of the conversation. As with all words and expressions, the words will flow across the audience rather than at one point. Thus rhetorical triangle language can become a vital tool in dialog-writing.

As a side note, the speaker who has set the conversation as he intends it should be treated in a manner that allows him-or-her or an audience member to appreciate him

The three parts of the triangle are ethos, logos, and pathos. Ethos is more concerned to the character of speakers. Any kind of text document that is ethos-driven concentrates on the character and reputation of writer. It reflects the reputation of author. If listeners can recognize the speaker’s credibility, it will help the speaker to make his task more easy and perfect. Ethos helps to interpret the relationship between listeners and speakers. Ethos-driven document is highly focused on the qualities of author that give credibility to his personality such as sincerity, trust, grooming, eye contact, dress, movement, height and expertise.

Pathos is highly focused on emotions, feelings and psychological state of the listeners. It is the fact that we can interpret the concept of document easily when we are in good mood but we cannot interpret it when we are in hostile mood. So it is the fact that pathos-driven document concentrates on the mood, emotions and feelings of the audience.

Logos-driven document is always focused on concepts or logical ability. It concentrates on proof that is given to the audience through logic reasoning. Humans make decisions on what grabs their attention through logical reasoning. If speaker’s communication is perfect and convincing, audience will inspire because they always try to find logical reasoning in the speech of speakers. Educational or official documents are focused on logos. (Ranjan, 2012)
