Corporal Punishment (CP) has been an alive and widely used disciplinary method all over the world. It is used by parents and educational systems who apply physical force on children for the purpose of discipline. Most people feel that this method is necessary to fix the childs unacceptable behavior. However, what they dont know are the devastating effects it has on their child in all levels. Children are the foundation of the future; they are the force power of the coming generation. This is why this subject is of much importance. What is shocking about this subject is that through all the technological and life progresses, the adoption of CP as a method of rearing children remains. However, I think that could be explained since CP creates an endless cycle of abusers: father hits the son/daughter; later this son or daughter hit their children and so on. Many people nowadays might be convinced that CP is a bad idea, but then as things become challenging and hard to handle most of them tend to use violence; the easiest way to release their pressure by bursting it out on their children. This is why we now see many children with a lot of psychological issues that prevent them from living a normal happy life and adjust with the society. People, especially parents, need to get informed how this method can turn out to be the ultimate cause of children with bad behavior and how its effects will stick with the child through all his life. Therefore, parents and educational systems should stop using corporal punishment immediately and resort to other disciplinary methods.

Corporal punishment makes your child more aggressive (Becker; Patterson, 1982 qf Hicks-Pass, 2009; L.Chen, 2005). This is because, children who witness this kind of disciplinary method are most likely to learn that violence can be used as a solution to life problems and is both acceptable and effective. Thus, these children will be aggressive in their daily behavior with their friends and also later in age with their intimate partners (Sigelman, Berry, & Wiles, 1984; White & Straus, 1981; Maclntyre & Cantrell, 1995; Simons & Johnson,1994; Simons & Lin, 1998; Straus & Kantor; Straus & Yodanis; Swinford et al., 2000; Ulman & Straus, 2003; Weiss et al.,1992; Brezina,1999; Gunnoe and Mariner, 1997; Straus et al., 1997 qf Hicks-Pass, 2009). This is proved by the positive correlation between the frequency of use of CP and symptoms of violence in behavior and aggression towards friends (Hicks-Pass, 2009). As a result, children who get spanked by their mothers are more likely to develop violence towards their peers in proportion with the intensity of punishment applied. It is not a surprise that they may also become animal or substance abuser. I believe that aggression is a relatively stable trait, so children who were spanked will stay violent later on in life towards partners in a dating relationship,
