My Personal Goals
To me, life is a gift that should never be taken lightly. I believe that each of us goes through a journey in life to learn lessons. Once those lessons are learned, which will take many different lifetimes, one would move onto the next level of living. I believe that the reason I am here, the reason that people exist, is to give and receive Devine love. I have set many goals for myself that reflect why I am here and the reason I exist.
This view of life started about three years ago. I woke up shivering, lying on the floor of my apartment with only a small throw blanket covering me. “I am still alive” I thought to myself. I felt numb and didnt really even want to get up. I went to the bathroom and splashed some water on my face and just stared at myself in the mirror. The night before I wrote in my journal:
Rock bottom is not as solid as I thought it would be. It is bumpy and hard and emotional. I feel so many things and nothing at all, all at the same time. My heart is not broken, but it is not whole either. I am not sure of my purpose, or if I even have one. Things are so stale and generic and worse then they have been in a long time. So I ask you creator, to take it away from me. I am tired, and I do not have the will to go on. I will lie down and shut my eyes. Can you just take me home now?
But creator left me behind. Or so I had thought. I was soon to realize the gift I had been given.
That was the first day of my new life. I was nineteen years old when I was given the gift of a second chance at life. I see things differently now. Everyday that I am here is a day I could have missed. Some of Gods greatest gifts are unanswered prayers. (Garth Brooks, “Unanswered Prayers”) I think that is appropriate for this story.
