Homosexuals are good at raising children, even better than their straight counter parts. For example, the U.S. National Longitudinal Lesbian Family Study, was the longest running study of lesbian families, shows that zero percent of the children they interviewed reported physical or sexual abuse by a parent. Straight parent families cannot say the same. In addition, only 2.8% of the children surveyed in this study considered themselves homosexual.
By the same token, several studies reported that children of homosexual parents showed that they did not turn out homosexual, compared to children of heterosexual parents. Also, the (APA) American Psychological Association study shows that there is only a little difference between being raised by homosexual parents versus heterosexual parents, and ending up with psychological or developmental problems.
There is a debate between the Family Research Council and Gay-rights groups as to whether or not these studies were biased. The (FRC) thinks that the studies were not conducted by anyone other than homosexual scientists. However, it has been proven to be false when reviewed by other scientists. Gay-rights groups discovered through the (APA) that the (FRC) studies were distorted in their findings, they promoted anti-gay agenda. Their research was misrepresented with unsound methods.
Gay-rights activists are angry about cases where the children were taken from their biological mother or father based on the parents sexuality. The government has been labeling them as “unfit,” because of their sexuality. “The belief that a child raised with a lesbian or gay parent is more likely to become lesbian or gay is without any basis in fact.” According to the (APA) quoting the (LLDF) Lambda Legal Defense Fund, a gay rights legal group, “The right of a child to be raised in a loving and emotionally healthy home should not depend on the prejudice of others.”
In conclusion, there are many children currently in foster care waiting to be adopted, denied the chance to be adopted by homosexuals that are willing and able to provide loving,
