Introduction:Beginning in the first half of 2011, the Middle East and North Africa has been in constant turmoil and sustained unrest. Worse still, the founding of Islamic State in 2014 even exacerbates the conflict, which forces millions of local people to leave their hometowns and escape to Europe. Consequently, Europe is facing the worst refugee crisis since World War II (Filio, 2015). More specifically, Germany, the largest refugee destination in Europe is deeply troubled-more Germans are against refugees as the number of refugees continuously increases (Patrick, 2016), thus, the issue “Whether Germany should accept refugees?” is worth investigating. This report will not only discuss the serious situation of refugees, but also show the possible advantages and disadvantages that refugees would bring to Germany, furthermore, examples of other countries and suggestions to balance this crisis will be investigated as well.Facts about the situation of refugees?High-cost JourneyThose refugees who have successfully crossed Mediterranean Sea and reached Europe are exact fortunate while a great deal of them died on the way (Willa, 2016). In fact, a large group of local people from war zone even do not have the opportunity to escape to Europe as a result of that they always need to pay a great number of money for fleeing. (unodc.org, 2017) Unfair Treatment However, those refugees arrived in Germany are not treated equally. For instance, a refugee without any criminal conviction might be detained up for one and a half years, which is even empowered by European Union laws (Dearden, 2015). Moreover, refugees in Germany have to suffer from racism (Daniel, 2014) and xenophobic attacks (Faiola, 2015). According to the Amadeu Antonio Foundation (Patrick, 2016), at least 63 attacks on refugees have been recorded till 2016.
