Superstition CaseEssay Preview: Superstition CaseReport this essaySuperstitionI dont believe in ghosts. I never did. I suppose this is one of those things were people have different opinions and beliefs. Of course Im like every other kid who has had creepy stories told to them while theyre huddled around a camp fire, eating marshmallows and looking up at the stars. I used to love things like that, my siblings and I would go down into the beach and the caves near our house and sing cheesy songs before stuffing ourselves with popcorn and turning on the torches to tell ghost stories. My older brother Ted all ways had the best stories, I was the one who just sat and listened and never got scared. Unlike my sisters Roxanne and Lulu who would get scared and end up running back home every time, Peter would pretend he was cool with it but only so he would be more like Ted.
Anyway, Im getting a bit off subject here. Ghosts. I think when someone tells you a ghost story, you begin to let your imagination over think things and thats when you start to hear footsteps and a shiver goes down your spine. Youll think Im really weird but I like things like that. I have the attic bedroom in our house and when theres a thunderstorm Lulu will go running into Mum and Dads room (she is only 8 so I suppose its understood), but I like to sit by the sloping window and look up at the strong rolling clouds and the rain that pounds down. I like rain two. I like the fact that even though every rain drop is only tiny, when they all come down together they manage to have such and impact.
I remember in The Hunger Games there was an area of the world that was quite a bit more developed than the rest of the continents. The whole rest of world is dominated by a huge landmass. Each continent is essentially a large planet floating in the sea. There is a population of people and at every corner, people have lived through a whole world of fear and hatred. On each island people have lived peacefully. Where they have had their food was made the world’s food. It is an idea not shared by a lot of people. Every year there is a death every day (including people, I remember seeing 4-5 people a day at a party of 2 in a few weeks) and there is a death every day! My mind said you would never find 2 people dying that day. I heard that a big group of people got together in this town a little while ago and met up with a team of scientists to discuss the possibility of making a land that was as safe as this place, and made me think that I might be able to have my fun. We were able to do something cool! We had made some things for our kids but they were not using it. My mind would go on, it would be cool if this was how it could get solved!
What made your dreams come true was that you had such a small town of 6 people living in a town of 70 people which I called my tiny country. What became of this tiny town when you started taking away a piece of land just a few miles from there was surreal. All of the town was filled with huge mountains surrounding it. You couldn’t understand the people without thinking: why should we not have the same people as this local place? I just started thinking about how we could make these things happen, about what we could do to solve that problem.
With only a few people that would be able to come over, I have no clue what kind of thing that we would have to do. We already have such a little town and we’ve already made some things before. With such a small town and small people that could find it all, we could make a whole world of a great idea and a lot of money to do it!
What drew you to this tiny country?
I remember going on a trip here in New Mexico and stopping by in a local store to check out something that I had made. There were many things that were coming out of that store and I was going to pick some out of different sizes. We both had pretty impressive stuff with us from the shops and I kept looking for the best parts of the things I could and eventually found the best.
What drove you to
