Global Warming
There are many problems concerning the environment. Pollution, destruction of the rainforests, and the natural resources that are getting taking away the earth every day. None of these issues quite compare to the problem of global warming. Global warming is a problem that affects everything from people to animals to plants. It has been a problem in recent years and has been affecting our world for a long while.
Global warming and climate change are terms for the observed century-scale rise in the average temperature of the Earths climate system.According to Erik Conway, global warming became the dominant popular term after June 1988, when NASA climate scientist James Hansen used the term in a testimony to Congress when he said: “global warming has reached a level such that we can ascribe with a high degree of confidence a cause and effect relationship between the greenhouse effect and the observed warming. The current annual earth temperature is 58.12 fahrenheit where in 1880’s it was around 56.71 fahrenheit, which a good increase in average temperature. This temperature could be the result of several different factors. Some of the factors that brings up the earth temperature are natural are energy supply, industry, forestry and agriculture. This have help risien the temperature of the planet annual earth temperature.
A really big issue of global warming is the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is an very huge issue of global warming, but it is not the reason behind why global warming is occurring. The earth produces greenhouse gases naturally, and without this gas, humans along with many other forms of life, would not be able to survive. The things is that we just have so much on our planet that the temperature has gone up and we as humans have not helped it at all. The Greenhouse effect is a naturally occurring process that aids in heating the Earths surface and atmosphere. It results from the fact that certain atmospheric gases, such as Carbon Dioxide water vapor, and methane, are able to change the energy balance of the planet by absorbing longwave radiation emitted from the Earths surface. Without the greenhouse effect life on this planet would probably not exist as the average temperature of the Earth would be a chilly -18° Celsius, rather than the present 15° Celsius(Pidwirny, “(h). The Greenhouse Effect.” 7(h) The Greenhouse Effect. N.p., 01 Aug. 2006. Web. 16 Apr. 2017). That is a 43 degree drop in temperature which, is just crazy.  The problem though, is that the earth is producing an abundance of this gas, and we are going to become much too warm at the pace people are going at. Life cannot survive in a certain amount of warmth as well, so a middle ground must be sustained.
Carbon dioxide currently accounts for 0.03% of the gas content within the atmosphere. This minor percentage of atmospheric carbon dioxide will likely have a significant effect on the global temperature. The percentage of atmospheric carbon dioxide has risen over the past century at an alarming rate. The industrial revolution is driven by fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gasoline, this are all major contributors to the rise in carbon dioxide. Deforestation also releases carbon dioxide which is  the burning of plant life, and it is also exposing the soil to sunlight. Also, trees are a major factor in the naturally processing of the carbon dioxide, needing it to make up their mass, when trees are cut down they can no longer serve to absorb carbon dioxide. This is destroying our world because it is helping the cause of the greenhouse effect.
There are a lot of causes that can happen with the earth getting hotter. There are also many results from global warming. With our earth getting hotter it does not help us out at all it
