Our economy is constantly striving to provide jobs around the world. This globalization of the food supply has serious consequences for the environment, our health, and our communities. & Our food now travels an average of one thousand five hundred miles before ending up on our plates. The money that is needed to send that produce and food that far can be towards other economic issue . Growing local food and selling it provides several jobs within the community howeverdis a for the farmers around the globe. Having “access to healthy, fresh food at affordable prices” (Source F) can allow communities to consume the nutrition that is needed but also lead healthy lifestyles at an affordable cost. Foodborne illness is a general term often used to describe a disease or illness caused by eating contaminated foods or drinks. There are several ways to spread these diseases and to prevent ther have to use many precautions. Buying food from the local grocery store may not last as long as locally grown food but it is the exact same food.
