Also, this topic is controversial generating different opinions in the public because people are not familiar with the process. The major issues that people are wondering, if GMO food is safe for human consumption, and what are the effects of these products in the body. However, GMO foods are safe to consume because GMO foods reduce using chemical, strong regulations, and increased nutritional composition of crops.        The first reason that GMO foods are safe for consumers is GMO foods decrease using chemicals during the production. One purpose of GMO foods are to avoid using chemicals like fertilizers and pesticides during harvesting process. For that reason, scientists are modifying genes to make the crops stronger and survive the pest. This is a big advantage because farmers do not need to use as much pesticide to control the pets. Furthermore, the researchers only modify the genes. They do not use chemicals to make the food stronger. GMO foods are safe because they do not use any king of chemicals during harvest.        Another reason that GMO foods are safety is the government does strong regulations for GMO foods. This is very important because the government has strict rules to admit the GMO foods in the market. The government is doing a hard work to establish a regulatory process and verifies the safety of GM foods for each case. For example, they need to consider different aspects for each GMO food such as allergy tests and toxicity tests. Companies need to follow the regulations to produce and sell their GMO foods. Also, GMO foods have rigorous testing to evaluate if it is safe for consumers.  GMO foods are controlling and regulating by the government to assure safety of consumers.
