Why or why not? (2.5 pts).Lotus Construction did prepare a good project plan in term of time; they completed the project on time. According to the case, the construction completed on 30 Dec 2010, before due date, 15 Feb 2011 and also that plan did not take any extra cost. But this plan contains many risks.
How many options could Lotus Construction, consider to catch up with the project progress? What factors do you suggest the company to consider to decide on a solution proposal? (2.5 points).Lotus has 5 proposals as shown in the case study:* Accelerate the pouring of the seat gallery supports. Finish at 18/11/2010 and add 130000 to cost.* Proposal 1 + double shift of the foundations for the arena floor. Finish at 30/12/2010 adds 195000 to cost.* 3 shifts and some overtime. Finish at 30/12/2010 and add 266000 to the cost.* Do nothing until 1 December. Finish 28/01/2011, add 207000 to the cost.* Take no action, process as the original plan, and finish 30/12/2010 + no extra cost. There are other basis besides expected costs such as public expectations and company reputation. Other factors might be considered such as, labor, contract, resource and political problems. We recommended the first proposal in order to cope with the water main repair and deal with the effects of the predicted cold water.
