The aim of last online survey is examining how emotions influence behavior with in a group. There are eight factors that were evaluated, which includes extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, openness, positive expressivity, negative expressivity, and impulse strength. In this reflection, I will emphasize to describe the influence of extraversion. Witt (2002) reported that extraversion reflects an energetic way to communication, and a person who is extravert has good social skills and enjoys human interactions, such as community activities, parties, and business groups. Furthermore, extroverts tend to be socially advantaged due to their communication preferences. Opt & Lottredo (2003) suggested that they also are better communicator, and they view themselves as more trustworthy.
The reason why I chose extraversion to be described is that communication is very important for team work, and extraverts always have good communicating skills. For example, a good leader in the team not only has leadership, but also tend to be talkative and assertive, which are characteristic of extraversion, to complete the task in order to get a good result. My score is 3.25 which is less than Mean (3.45). I am not an extravert and not good at talking or expressing myself. When we do the group meeting for preparing our presentation, sometimes I cannot express my opinion exactly. However, now I learn that extroversion is important, because it has an influence on communication behavior, such as increasing my tolerance, confidence and so on.
