Learning Team Behavior and Processes
Time management skills are very important whether it be on a learning team or an individual assignment. With good time management skills you are in control of your life, your stress, and energy level (Time-Management-Guide.com, 2013). This paper addresses the roles and responsibilities, time management skills, decision-making strategies, and conflict resolution plans of the team.
Roles and Responsibilities
Each team member has a role and responsibilities; these are discussed within the first meeting in class. When roles and responsibilities are built, it opens up a line of communication, and deletes any questions in mind that would question one another’s motives on the team. These roles and responsibilities could change week to week or stay the same; as for this team they will continue on the same. Lakenya is responsible for breaking down the team assignments and posting it in the team forum as well as emailing the other team members. Ryan and Talibra are responsible for inquiring with Lakenya that they know what is expected of them, doing their parts, and turning in the parts on time as expected. Keeping things the same each weeks just seems easier for the team.
Time Management
Each team member brings something different in the group; when working in a team environment, time management is important. Communication is also a key factor when it comes to time management. Since each person on the team has a family, works, or other life issues that can come into play, communication is how everyone knows what is going on. Setting-goals and keeping to those goals are one of the time management skills, as well as keeping procrastination to a limit, if not procrastinating at all. Time management, goal-setting, and no procrastination are three things that will give a team a boost when it comes to working together and getting assignments taken care of. Lakenya is good at keeping everyone informed of what is needed of them and when things should be turned in. Talibra ensures that everyone is on top of things and if anyone needs helps; she is there to lend a hand. Ryan is good at proof-reading and staying on top of the communication. These things help eliminate wasting time. Instead of one person being responsible for everything.
When it comes to conflict, we all are adults and we will handle any issues we may have like adults. So far there has not been any conflict between any of the team members and we are hoping to continue in that matter. We all do what is needed and communicate effectively.
As far as the week five assignment, it will be broken down like all the other assignments. Having the assignment in the forum or emailed gives time to go over things and making corrections that need to be done. Each person will take the time to read up on the different types of teams so there
