Graphic OrganizersEssay Preview: Graphic OrganizersReport this essayA. I will introduce graphic organizer by using concept mapping. This will give me an idea of what the class already know and understand. Then, I will briefly give the definition of graphic organizers and inform the students that concept mapping, which was use earlier to introduce the topic, is an organizer and there are also several kinds used in Mathematics. Using a slide show, I will show pictures and name the types of organizers like Venn diagrams, star diagrams, tables, and pie charts (Col, 2006). For each type, I will ask the students if they have used or encountered the graphic organizer in solving math and ask to state the mathematical problems (i.e. probability, statistics, fractions, algebra, comparing or contrasting data). I will give further explanation by describing its purpose and also giving examples of simple math problems to model how to use each graphic organizer to process and organize information.

B. Measurable Learning Objective: Given a probability problem, student will identify the graphic organizer to use and organize information to solve the problem with 100% accuracy. Problem: In a single throw of a pair of dice, what is the probability of having 5 or 11? Use and show a graphic organizer to solve the desired and the total number of events. Use formula, Probability = number of desired events (D)/total number of events (T) or P=D/T. Before starting instruction, I will ask what data or information is given and what is the unknown in the problem. To be able to solve the probability, students must know the number of desired events (D) and the total number of events (T) from the formula. I will inform students that number of desired events (D) is the events when the dice have the sum of 5 or 11. To demonstrate, I will throw a pair of dice (1 red, 1white) at least five (5) times and instruct students to record the number shown in each die and the sum of both for each event. I will ask the students what suitable graphic organizer to use. Graphic Organizer And Use Formula. (October 4, 2021).
