It’s hard to get the chapter motivated during recruitment, because they don’t expect to do as well as everyone else (we never do) and it’s hard to get them to attend all-Greek events because we don’t make a great impression there, and we rarely place, much less win, in events because we just don’t have as many people.
Based on concepts discussed in this workshop, how would you advise this student?MOTIVATION CASE STUDYWhenever anything needs to be done, we always rely on the same 3-5 people to do it. They’re great, but I don’t want them to get burned out, and it would be better if more people were involved. However, everyone knows that we can count on that core group of people, so they don’t bother volunteering.
Based on concepts discussed in this workshop, how would you advise this student??MOTIVATION CASE STUDYI am involved in multiple campus organizations. I enjoy it, but there is so much to do — I sometimes feel overwhelmed. Some days go great, but some days I wonder why I bother and it is getting easier and easier to ignore deadlines rather than stress about them. When I first got involved, I had more time and everything was more exciting and enjoyable, but now I’m thinking of resigning my leadership positions and I might quit my chapter, too.
Based on concepts discussed in this workshop, how would you advise this student?MOTIVATION CASE STUDYBetween programming requirements from the University, programming requirements from the National organizations, chapter events, and social events, our members could spend every night of the week on Greek events. Lots of people complain about being too busy, and I’m afraid that the Greek GPA is going to suffer (we’re close to the all-student average, but just below it), but the school doesn’t seem to want to lessen their requirements, chapters have their own operational things they have to do, and everyone wants to keep a fun social calendar. How can we get this under control before it negatively impacts members’ academics and before members get so frustrated that they stop coming to events or quit?

I donмt know. This course is extremely difficult… it doesn’t go very well and, for me, it may or may not be better when done as a solo.

I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fun, educational program that works and does things consistently. There are some other options that may be useful for people. In particular, some of these courses can help you develop that specific mental capacity. My recommendation would be for a professional, self-study group, in the group that has access to an online learning library, where you can use it to practice all parts of programming and teach it. This may be easier to work with than a series of individual-group online tutorials, which may be difficult to find, but it also tends to be fun.

I don〜c feel that they have a good grasp on a proper course, even though I think about it on a regular basis. If it could be taught at a level that everyone had a grasp on, they would be a better fit. But the people who can learn about programming and understand the language and think creatively without problems are probably not that focused.

I think this is a much better course than the other two. It does a number on what the average GPA is over a year, what time of year is appropriate for it. It’s a good starting point, if the person wants to learn more about the program. It also gives you answers to questions like how did it go, how had this year been affected by it, what does the school do during the time before or after it, what’s the program about, etc.
NEEDLES
The course is free with full credit, and the syllabus is very interesting. The syllabus is organized in a more linear way. Everyone has their own time zone to talk about it, which is awesome.

The course is very hard on people. It’s not well organized. I had to spend the entire time explaining what the hell I was doing, what we were doing, how I wanted to do it, what we could do as learners, what kind of resources we would get from other people, what kind of support were available for us, etc. To learn as if every day was just a small, repetitive exercise has been a chore. The classes are extremely short. Most of the classes are held in dormitories or in offices (with no internet access). Students who need to stay for the hour feel that they must be at home.
NEEDLES
This is kind of like a full-time day school course. The students are asked questions about their programming. There are also exercises in class; we try to break through to the next question. The same thing happens on weekends too (but just before and after a break). Our goal is to continue to get the
