Subject: Delaying launch of new Brave Mouthwash
Good morning Mrs. Rusico,
I and my staff have been working hard on the new Brave Mouthwash; it is great and is ready to go to market. But we have an obstacle to get over and an opportunity to make this launch even better over our rival.
Our rival Crest is about to release their new mouthwash, with the same benefits as our mouthwash this actual creates a great opportunity for us. It kills more than ninety percent of bacteria, and makes your breath smell fresh all day and night. These were great ideas that our product has and will get to sell our product but I believe we should delay the launch. To enhance our product performance and price structure to assure we trump our rival. They are selling their product for 10% (.50 cents) cheaper than ours.
I have come up with a couple of options that we can do to ensure we beat Crests product. We can cut our production costs by using our factories in the Philippines. The labor costs there are only $1.90 cents per bottle instead of Taiwan where it is costing us $2.50 cents per bottle. We can also add an attribute to our product from another line, which is, whitens teeth. This would give our product an advantage in price and abilities over Crests product.
If we make this change to the product we will lose a few weeks on the release, but when it is released I believe the mouthwash will fly off the shelves. I would love to have a meeting with you to show you all of my statistics, and why we need to delay the product for a few more weeks.
Sincerely,
Assistant Marketing Manager
