Ashely stands at the edge of the cliff. Below her the harsh breeze runs uncontrollably over
my skin exploding fresh Goosebumps. Ashely rubbed her temples; her thoughts were
spinning out of control. Would it be painful wondered to jump, to feeling your skull cracking
against the rocks? No more painful, surely than not to jump. The sky was covered in a thick
coat of dark velvet, just so she could be able to the stars above. The wind hit her forcefully
in the head; send my coat whipping out behind me. She fidgeted constantly, hands
trembling uncontrollably. She let her coat unravel off her body and let it disappear into the
wind.
“Ashley!” Bellamy called for her at the top of lungs. His heart was beating vigorously, as he
tried to hold in the tears that rolled down his face. He ran, his flashlight sending shadows
beaming against the rocks. His lips turned numb as he pressed them tightly together. He
wanted to scream, but he knew he had to carry on. Rain descended from the sky, stronger
and heavier; creating droplets that blurred his vision. He had to get to her before it’s too
late.
Ashely stood there, in a thin t-shirt, jeans and no shoes. Sharp waves broke her ski, drawing
blood. But she didn’t care. A half grin half sob covers her face. No more white rooms,
doctors with sympathetic faces, therapists who would nod understandably without
listening. “You can be your depression. You strong, don’t let it take over your life” She was
