A Difficult Choice
A half year ago, I had dinner with my four friends at a restaurant near our college. We discussed about where to live when we arrived at New York City. We had two choices. We could live in Brooklyn or live in Queens. It was hard for us to choose. After much discussion, we made a choice to live in Brooklyn.
My college, SDIBT in China, has a corporate program with NYIT. A year ago, I decided to take part in this program to study at NYIT as an exchange student. Therefore, I had to find a place to live in America. I wanted to find a house where I could live with my other four friends who also would go to America to study. We asked our teacher, Qi Men, to help us to find a house. Qi men lived in New York City. She has been working in Brooklyn Law School for two years. We thought that maybe she was familiar with New York City, therefore she would help us to find a good place to live.
Eight months ago, Qi Men told us that she found a new house in Brooklyn. She said that it was a really perfect house with a convenient location and cheap rent. The house had seven rooms. She acted as the principal tenant. She asked us to pay for a year’s rent. She said that if we paid for a year’s rent, we could use the yard. However, I did not want to pay for a year. I thought that pay for a year means that I had to live in this house for a year. If I was unsatisfied with the house, it would be really hard for me to move out of the house.
After a few days, my four friends and I decided to discuss how to deal with his house. We found a restaurant, which was close to our college to have dinner and talk about this. Three of my friends agreed that rent this house and paid for a year’s rents. They said that it was a really good house and if we
