Why pharmacy?
Start off either working at a local pharmacy or a pharmacy chain like Boots, before moving on to ultimately owning a property.
Why have I applied to this university?
Reading
It is one of the most research intensive universities in the UK, as well as being considered one of the top 50 universities in the world.
Redbrick university and was established in 1892.
It was awarded the Queens Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education in 1998, and again in 2005.
The University is successful at a number of sports, including rowing, tennis, hockey, and squash. In particular, they are highly successful at Rowing and the Reading University Boat Club has won many awards and competitions, its most recent BUSA placing being second on points at the 2007 BUSA Regatta.
Where is pharmacy heading?
With the NHS spending a relatively small amount of its budget on drugs, the effect they have on the community is collossal when compared to the cost. This makes the health service require more pharmacists to dispense drugs in order to maximise the Governments spendings. And with the motion of pharmacists being able to prescribe, this will ultimately lead to the efficiency and standard of health care being improved.
What is the difference in a virus and bacteria?
Bacteria: Unicellular prokaryote organism.
Virus: Not a cell that can only reproduce inside body cells.
What is the difference in a drug and medicine?
Medicine: A drug or any other substance used to prevent or cure disease or to relieve pain.
Drug: A chemical substance used in the treatment, cure, prevention, or diagnosis of disease or used to otherwise enhance physical or mental well-being.
What ways in which drugs are administrated?
Orally, as a liquid or solid, that is absorbed through the stomach.
Inhaled, (breathed into the lungs), as a vapor.
Injected as a liquid either intramuscular or intravenous (put under the skin, into a vein or muscle tissue with the use of a hypodermic needle).
Rectally as a suppository, that is absorbed by the colon.
Vaginally as a suppository, primarily to treat vaginal infections.
Bolus, a substance into the stomach to dissolve slowly.

Protein deposits, known as amyloid plaques and tau tangles, appear and spread in the brain. The levels of important chemical transmitters, such as acetylcholine, are reduced. Many of the blood vessels of the brain are also damaged.
Gradually the connections between brain cells are lost and eventually many of the cells themselves die.
