Healthcare has become one of the largest revenue contributors to the Indian GDP. Healthcare comprises of hospitals, medical equipment, medical devices, telemedicine, medical tourism, health insurance and clinical trials. Competitive advantage lies in the large pool of trained professionals but the challenge lies in delivering the services to nook and corners of the country. With a significant scope of enhancing the quality of services delivered with the rising per capita expenditure of $68.6 in 2015. India requires a significant investment in the industry over the next five years to fulfil the gap between demand and supply. Upcoming trends in E-healthcare have given a new avenue to this investments for fulfilling the needs of healthcare through technology.

Between Patient and Pharmacy: Healthkart.com and 1mg.com were the major focus in this area. Both are a part of Bright Lifecare Pvt. Ltd while healthkart focuses on dietary supplements and heath devices. 1 mg operates an online marketplace for medicines, besides facilitating medical appointments and diagnostic test bookings.
