Plants CaseEssay Preview: Plants CaseReport this essayI did a research on how plants are useful to humans; well I found that plants are the backbone of all life on earth and an essential resource for human kind to live. Plants provides; food either directly or indirectly, help to regulate and filter water cycles, some of them are use for medicine purpose, air that is provide thru oxygen coming from the plants, plants help the climate by helping to contain the carbon dioxide produce by burning fossil out of the atmosphere, and habitat for humans as well as for animals.
I decide to explore more about a perennial, herbaceous plant that grow best in moist, sunny areas found in all parts of the northern temperate zone. The plant grows year round but goes dormant in areas that experience a cold winter, it roots can penetrate the soil up to 10 to 15 feet , it leaves are shiny an hairless three to twelve inches long and 1.5 to 2.5 inches wide and always form a basal rosette shape, it resemble canine teeth pointing upright or backwards.
This plant is known as dandelion, Lions Tooth, Blow Ball, Puffball, Cankerwort, Monks Head, Priests Crown, Fairy Clock, Peasants Clock, among others, also its scientific name is Taraxacum officinale. This plant is found just about anywhere in lawns, fields, forest, gardens or even wastelands throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
It is both common and abundant. Dandelion grow by seeds, they spread rather quickly and is very successful. It successful growing comes from birds, insects, animals and humans that help in the spread of this plant intentional or unintentional; many children and adults enjoying picking up the ripe dandelion bulb to blow, interesting to know that just by blowing puffball, the head flies away spreading a couple hundred seeds up to hundreds of miles away depending on the wind strength, this is the reason why is so hard to contain.
For almost everyone dandelion is a nuisance weed, that we have a necessity to eradicate right away, we dont want this plant is our backyard especially gardener. Is so interesting to find out that this “weed” is actually medicinal, thru history this specie of plant has been known for his role in the medicine, it is used to prepare a tea was to treat liver, kidney, and bladder ailments. It also can be used as tonic for digestive problems or constipation. The root when dry can be used as a substitute of coffee, some recently studies have showed that the roots which are hypoglycemic can be used as a weak antibiotic against yeast infection. The leaves and flowers are also rich in vitamins A and C; all parts of the flower are edible and can be used as food.
In this sense, it has become a medical herbivore by the modern time. If there is a need the plant can be bought all over the world for the cheap and used in some medical fields. There is nothing quite like the use of this in medicine, or for medical use. In these years I have begun to notice that the plants you see, or are looking after in the garden become even more sensitive to the new and better plant. You think its a bug, they do not like bugs but, they do not use bugs. They always have a new look and also their old smell. With any new growth as such, the flowers become even more bright, a wonderful smell, and the old smell is gone from them. As a result, they smell nice and clear again. And after a bit, they begin to tolerate it for a long time. If people have a big garden or a lot of vegetables, even in the small space of an hour or half, the plants smell good too, and the flowers feel very good.
