The Importance of Patient Involvement in Their Own HealthcareEssay Preview: The Importance of Patient Involvement in Their Own HealthcareReport this essayLynette WilsonInstructor Ms. WilliamEnglish 1101 Online25 April 2011The Importance of Patient Involvement in their own HealthcareI feel it is essential that patients speak up and get involved in their own healthcare. Twelve years ago I got involved in my healthcare and it literally saved my life. A lot of people go to doctors and never ask questions regarding their healthcare because they are afraid to speak up. Most of us are more familiar with our bodies better than anyone else; if you listen closely to your inner self, your body will alert you to what it does and does not need. I spoke up and I cant help but wonder, whether I would be alive to experience mother hood today if I hadnt got involved with my healthcare .
I have two daughters, and when I was having a family, when I was at home or on vacation, i would tell my mom I was getting a little older and she would say “that is such a shame, a privilege, i want to go through this with you in a long way”. That is where I am today. I am sure I will have the same experience if I had been in and involved my own healthcare or have a family for many years. That is a lot of potential (I wish there was some other way to say it), and all because I am aware !!!
Please support the work of the National Hospital Trust . As a member of the NHS Foundation Trust, it is very important that you join us for the work of this work fund, as you want to support the many in need of NHS care with which you work. And, as a member of the National Hospital Trust, it is very important, in any case, that we join the NHS Foundation Trust in the same direction as a local community.
Please remember, that a lot of people who have made it through some time in life don’t have access to all of the things a GP would be able to or could have had through experience. They have to do part service before being able to support their families, then to support themselves. Let me tell you in this article I hope that, as we grow, and as people who care for people, we will take a moment and a leap in understanding a person and understand how it can be affected by their experiences. I have been looking for a couple of years now to come up with a new way of thinking about some aspects of health care (like the use of medication/drugs to manage depression/treat anxiety, care for diabetes, support social programs/etc) I can think of and I believe it will become very easy to understand. My hope is that this website will one day be a catalyst for people to come across an illness and help bring it to a whole new level.
So, before we get started, it should be stated that I believe that health care for anyone regardless of health class is a fundamental human right. I think it’s important to us that everyone on this planet needs help, support, and support, but more than that, we need their trust. If we want to help more people realize that they should get help and help their loved ones, we need to be more accessible and flexible. I don’t mean just for the sake of being accessible, but to provide access that will not simply be for others, but for our fellow man. One of my most heartfelt messages to those that ask me this question is that for decades I have been telling my friends and relatives the problem was that we’re stuck in a world where people really can access almost anything any day of the week. It is so depressing in a world that so few people have access to health care. Because I feel it is important to help make this world a better place. I want you to understand how close we all can be. I want you to understand how close we all are, how close these people can live peacefully together. We as a society can have all the same problems. I am the first person ever to say this. We don’t have a problem with anything. We need access to services that is compassionate, caring, equitable, supportive, nurturing, and able to help people live a good life

I was twenty eight years old and working in an Ob/Gyn clinic as a medical assistant. I dealt with pregnant women on a daily basis and anticipated the day that I would have a child myself. One day while working in the lab where we tested women for pregnacy, I decided to test myself and to my surprise my test was positive. I was smiling inside all day and couldnt wait to get home to share the exciting news with my husband. After giving him the wonderful news we set up an appointment for my first doctor visit. Luckily my doctor was one of the doctors I worked with at the Ob/Gyn clinic. Although we were excited about this pregnancy my husband and I received some disturbing news on a later visit. I was told that my pregnacy was high risk because I had been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. This is a form of diabetes that occurs in women who were non diabetic before pregnancy. Having gestational diabetes meant I had to check my blood sugar often throughout the day, administer insulin injections, follow a strict diet and attend doctor visits weekly instead of twice a month. The risk with this type of pregnancy was that my baby would grow to be very large and I would have to plan to have my labor induced four weeks earlier than my anticipated date of delivery. I was very knowledgeable about my diagnosis because I asked a lot of questions during my visits and made by doctor aware that I wanted to be involved as much as I could from the very beginning.
The best way to get involved in your own health care is to prepare yourself before every doctor visit. I would write down questions that concerned me. I would bring my list and ask my doctor to explain things to me as thoroughly as possible separating myths from facts. When I left my doctor appointments I felt confident about my high risk pregnancy instead of discouraged. After all this was my first pregnancy and I had another life to consider besides my own. I thought my doctor would be bothered by all the questions, but he actually seemed to
